Plucking Wings question

So, I've been doing Plucking Wings since Fenrir got access, and noticed something odd. When I go to turn in the op, the NPC says "It's alrrright, Urthdigger. Not everything goes as we plan it. On the other hand, a success is a success. Good job!"

This text is the "partial completion" text for if you complete the main objective, but not the side objectives. One example is defeating the Carrier, but not his escort, when doing Pit Spider. I was wondering if maybe this was because we did not defeat his companions, but merely focused on the NM? Though, that'd seem like an odd objective because his companions respawn anyway. Has anyone beaten it while defeating the other enemies, and gotten a different completion message?

I've been doing the same fight and getting the same result, and my group has been repeatedly killing the adds as they repop just to get them out of the way. I thought maybe only the person who opened the crate would get the full success message, but I don't know.
