View Full Version : Simple suggestion: HQ while skilling up should give guaranteed skill-up

Getting an HQ below the recipe cap on an item is a rare event, so I don't think it's unreasonable to give a for-sure skill up when this happens.

It's especially sadface-worthy when you're skilling up on Red Curry and you get an HQ, because the Red Curry has no actual HQ version (while the buns do)....

Like if you like this idea >.>

Since people don't seem to understand, an example.

Your cooking skill is 95. You are crafting red curry (skill cap 100). You get the HQ animation. You should get a skill up for sure. The chance of an HQ while skilling up is extremely low (like 1%).

Your cooking skill is 95. You are crafting orange juice (skill cap 10). You get the HQ animation. You do not get a sure skill up because you wouldn't get a skill up at all anyway.

I'm getting the impression that everyone's too enraged about clicknbuy to post or discuss anything about the game itself...

People would abuse it. What would stop people with higher level Synthesis skills from HQ'ing lower level items just for the instant skill up?

The fact that lower level items do not give skill ups?

How do you abuse something that has a less than 1% chance to happen?

This is when you skill up on an item. This isn't when you're just crafting stuff to try to HQ.

Did you not get the hint from the fact im skilling up on red curry? If you're crafting a synth FOR SKILL UP, E.G. You're below the cap on the recipe you're using, the chance of an HQ is minimal. Thus, if it does happen, it should be a for sure skill-up. Doesn't it make sense that if you performed a synthesis you were doing for practice really well, that you would become more skilled?

I really like this idea, as subtle as it is.

That's basically where it comes from. It's an extraordinary event as it is, so I don't feel it would hurt to make it a smidgen more rewarding.
