Would it be too much to ask for some new Fields of Valor books to be added in ToAU areas or in the Shadowreign areas? I can understand how popular abbysea is but why do those areas not have access to one of the best additions to soloing added to the game? Could we at least get that looked at SquareEnix instead of telling us how sarutabaruta got its name?

I love Fields of Valor and Abbysea both but sometimes i prefer the slower pace of FoV or just don't want to spend alot of time doing it and it would be a neat thing to add i think, thoughts anyone?

Dont forget about ToAU. Mount Zhaolym could benefit as well as the woodlands and thickets for lower lvl parties.

Agreed completely, we need FoV on more areas, even on the older areas, need the book to be on a lot more places. While we are on it, the xp rewards should be a lot more to offset the xp you gain in Abbysea. And have mobs drop xp chest as well.

FOV was a great idea. It really helped out at the lower levels, and Repatriation comes in handy at any level.
It would be great if it could be everywhere!
Also, it would be nice to have "advanced buffs" for higher levels, like stronger forms of refresh and regen, and possibly Haste.

I see how this all would benefit players who are used playing a RPG game, but most people seem to forget that this is a multiplayer game and just soloing everything would by definition defeat the purpose of the game.
It's nice not to be dependant on other people all of the time, but if you prefer to solo this may not be the right game for you.

endgame still has you teaming up and not all of us have time or want to team up.

Many people use FoV when duoing and trioing. Personally, I've been using FoV for hours a day with two of my friends, and it is pretty darn nice.
I am however not sure how useful it would be to put FoV in dungeons. Dungeons are usually much more annoying to navigate, and getting to the pages on an wide and open field area takes enough time for me already :p.

I think you're missing the point a little bit. It's not about "preferring to solo this way" all the time. Sometimes I like to wind down a little bit and get away from all the idiots of Abyssea and the noise and bustle of Port Jeuno and just solo a little bit. My DRG has soloed most of the way to 39 and it has been incredibly blissful, healing even. Some people just love to solo and not have to deal with other players and I understand that it is an MMO, where you need other players' interactions to further yourself in the game, but sometimes it's nice to solo a bit. My BST would benefit from more FoV in other areas too.

Marianka, this game has evolved for the better. Now FFXI has a lot of options for players, you are no longer forced to party with others to complete everything or getting things done. And given the options, most people would rather get things done on their own terms and not having the complication of involving other people. Granted most endgame activities still involve alliance. Even then, a lot can be done with smaller number of people these days, which is a great options to have, and lessen the time sink and complication of having to gather 18 people.

I'm all for having Fov in all areas. I want them to put books in better position though or make the book like magian specs where u can call it up make your selection and smash away.

choosing how many pages you want to do before going back to book would also be nice

I like the idea of more FoV, stronger buffs in higher-leveled areas AND the book's page staying active until you return to the book to deactivate and grab another. Would make the game much nicer and even make areas outside of abyssea little appealing when you want a slower pace. But it wouldn't completely out-do abyssea for when your looking for a faster pace. I also think the idea that in normal areas, you can get EXP chests would be nice too.
I would definitely be more willing to head outside of abyssea to level then.

would be cool if FoV were more party-friendly, like maybe pages with only 1 type of monster as target (yes like dominion), I think it would incentivate people in partying more out of abyssea too.

FoV specs are still good idea and more single target ones yes please. more changes would be get rid of the medicine in brown chest, add more r/e gear, and all regular gear pops with augments
o the changes that would make non abyssea that much better

FoV is great for solo adds more pages to each each book on the party friendly side leave it active till you turn it off for a party just make it like 20 of one mob or something

Party and solo individual FoV books would be a great addition, with the increase in exp even without hyping the exp from the pages it still just about evens out, would be great to see new books offering 2000-2500 xp per page.

Maybe they should make a portable FoV book similar to Magian Trials book, so you never have to run out too far to get new page. Double the xp earned, make single target around 8-10 mobs. Add dungeons FoV (portable FoV will solve problems of having to constantly running back and forth). Add more FoV on ALL areas outside Abyssea. Give players options so that they don't always have to do Abyssea for xp, and can log in and out for 30-60 mnts and still able to gain xp with almost no downtime at all.

Yea a portable FoV would be great even if monsters to kill were increased, hate losing my buffs right before the last monster and having to run all the way back or risking death.
What if there was only one page per FOV. The player accepts the page , goes out into the area. Kills whatever they want and as much as they want. Then when they are finished, they return to the book to collected they're one large lump sum of adjusted rewards.
So if a page regularly requires you to kill ten lizards for Five hundred exp. You go out and kill 40. The player would return to the book to receive 2000 exp. Without the hassle of running back and forth all the time.
