Greater Hate shed? Test with a Scholar's Libra ability.

If it's 0% with gloves, and if it's 10% without, then the answer would be obvious.

Since it's an instance type move, it's more than likely additional hate shed.

Its already been tested I believe. Enmity douse already sheds all of your CE and VE so there's nothing else for the gloves to do.

maybe it prevents enmity gain for an amount of time as well?

Click the link I posted then read the discussion page

They may effect enmity gain after Douse?
Player 1 Pulls with Threnody (300 CE)
Player 2 casts 3x Threnody (300 CE)
Player 1 uses Enmity Douse (1 CE)
Player 1 uses 3x Threnody as fast as I could following Enmity Douse (300 CE) <-- Player 1 gets hate back after all three and the rabbit turns towards him briefly even after the first Threnody.

So it's definitely not -Enmity. It could be increased enmity lost when taking damage or increased VE decay rate, but that'd be a silly effect considering the JA sets your VE to 0. Also, based on the way the monster was looked at me every time I cast Threnody, for increasing amounts of time, I'd say that it's probably not increased VE decay rate. --Byrthnoth 09:06, 14 July 2011 (EDT)

This, along with "Enhances addendum white/black" on SCH af3 body are the two biggest enmity related effects still unknown.

It'd be cool if it took you off the hate list completely like Hide.

A little while ago I was fighting Ironclad smiter. He had switched damage forms and received doubled from my nuke as well as the other blm that had the +2. He used enmity douse first and then me shortly after and yet the NM still came after me despite the fact we had mutliple DDs on it from before our nukes.

I would like to point out that I was not nuking nearly as much as the other blm so he was much higher on the hate list than I was.

So possibly prevents enmity accumulation for a period after using douse?

If I had to guess, it just removes more enmity.

More than all? Negative enmity? Makes the mob run away screaming from you?

3rd post in this thread is a link to BGwiki testing showing that it is neither of these.

does it reduce ALL enmity tho? Cause after using douse and having a nm return to the tank, even after a few mins one nuke can get the hate back on me if there is only a handful of us. And Im not even a well geared or high damage wielding blm as I found the job annoying after the aby release so I now only use it to proc. I always just assumed it lowered u a couple notches on the list but didnt remove it entirely since I could jump back so high with one weak iv-v nuke.

Spike damage always seems to do that. It removes all enmity (as far as I've read up) just doesn't remove you from the list like Hide.

ok, I read the BGwiki testing page, and figure the directional aspect has some promise. It's possible enmity douse when used with gloves could shed hate from you and (some/all) any player stood between you and the mob. Or you and anyone stood the far side of you from the mob. Requires 3 people to test though; all of those tests were done with 2 people.

Another enmity related issue is "Enhances Soul Jump" on Lancer Cuissots+2. These have been tested to not enhance accuracy or damage in any way and these jumps already don't create any hate(A freshly pulled mob with Dia did not turn to hit me after a 3.5k Triple Attack Soul Jump". They can't possibly reduce hate any further so I wonder...

I anxiously await to see how the Devs will weasel their way out of this one.

By ignoring it, like they do with 99% of questions on here.

SE Response: something to do with enmity, calling it.
