So,
I was one of the customers who was billed last month and then cancelled. That was frustrating, but hey, mistakes happen, right?
...
So, now, as my bill cycled this month, I was double charged like someone who activated mid-month. To make this stupidly clear, I was:
Billed for last month as usual, and then cancelled in error.
Billed twice in August, presumably for last month's post-billing activation, as well as for the month of August.
I own four accounts, and this error only happened to the one that was cancelled in error last month.
Has this happened to others? If you were one of the lucky few who were cancelled in error last month, I would check your bank account if you have not done so yet this morning...

I was also double charged. I surely hope I will get a refund, though with the way they treated me before I doubt it.
When the billing thing happened I posted here because I was concerned this very thing would happen. All I got were some players telling me to contact SE support. Which, by the way, I did. I was hung up on twice and my email was ignored.

They are processing biling by all methods I think...depending on what you were registered to use when they started should determine how it gets paid. Think I saw someone post they had already seen something go through on one of the new billing options.

They charged me with crysta for this month. I wasn't expecting them to start the new billing until next month, but whatever, guess it works. Now I need to overpay to buy more crysta for next month =/.

The issues with crysta and the new payment method are certainly frustrating - but again, this thread is regarding the double-charges that may appear via the old billing system.
I wanted to explain what happened to me and warn others of the "oops we cancelled you last month" crowd what they may want to look for. While I find it likely that the change will be frustrating for me as well - I would like to avoid this thread turning into another anti-new-system thread by bringing up the overpaying needed when using crysta.
Thank you for the responses, guys. Hopefully SE will see this and look into the matter (though I am fairly certain we will just have to fight the good fight on hold with customer support...).

I had my friends who were also canceled in error last month check their statements, and they were also double charged. I really hope something is done.

Last month a friend and I both got a refund on charges for having had to reactivate our accounts. It was weird, but we were both expecting to get double billed this month, and that's what happened. What is really annoying is I would've preferred to just use the Crysta I have sitting on my stupid account for 14, but I can't transfer account because I was forced to reactivate last month. Anyway, guys who got double billed, check your statements for last month and see if you got a refund on your payment.

I just got double billed for the account that was cancelled in error last month. Checked the statement and the July charge was still there, it was not refunded. I also had to pay the account reactivation fee, even though it was not my fault the account was cancelled...

I was billed, billing failed because I couldn't change my card info... I was not booted from the game... anyone else have this happen?

I wasn't billed... I switched to the crysta system when I transferred. Upon hitting the 1st, yesterday, I had to buy crysta to activate my account for this month. Was kind of annoying considering I had asked about the issue a few days ago and never got a response. But it is what it is. My account's open now. I really like that registration maintenance doesn't affect the SE website.

My other account went past the maintenance fine, was billed normally as far as I can see, but the other one was not (it has done that before, even though the card is good and the money's fine, I would need to re-enter the card number and I would be able to re-activate).
However, this time it forced me to first transfer said account to my SqEX account, and of course, use Crystanonsense or ClickorBye.
The fee was 10.33 €UR for July (unsure why, maybe they just felt like it), so I'd need to buy Crraty for at least 5+10 €UR worth. And that was just to 'unlock' the POL Account. I don't have enough money to re-activate the characters and pay for the 30 days because they took that July fee now, instead of earlier, which is how I had planned the money to be sufficient for.
Now I gotta wait a few business days for more money to be transferred to that account, and buy more Crytsa-woohoo, to be able to continue using it (even though they said I could resume using it after paying that 10.33 but I guess it only meant PlayOnline yay).
I had also assumed that they would force the transfer only after August, not yet during it...
Nice, very nice. And user-friendly!
