Well for those of you who care check out Click and Buy's BBB rating!!!! http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/electronic-equipment-and-supplies-dealers/clickandbuy-com-in-new-york-ny-94189/
That actually doesn't show very much, but consider this by using conspiracy nut math:
By searching "clickandbuy scam" on google there's 1,170,000 hits. If you do the same for say Paypal, there's over 7 million hits. Ah ha! People are just Paypal biased while not even realizing just how much Paypal sucks themselves, so it must be placebo effect at work against Clickandbuy. Well, not so fast. C&B has like 13 million users. Paypal has over 230 million. If you multiply C&B to match paypal, which is x18, one can presume that C&B would have over 21 million hits for the search "Clickandbuy scam."
Over 7 mil for Paypal. Over 21 million for clickandbuy. Do you feel safe using clickandbuy? Who wants to risk their moneyyyyyyyyy. Step right up. Use services like Paypal and clickandbuy, otherwise known as rent'a banks, 'cept they don't have to follow the bank codes and could lose you thousands of dollars if they feel like it. Step right up. Play russian roulette with your money! It's so easy and convenient. All you have to do is trust a middleman with their hands in your bank account and never again will you have to worry about filling out those pesky CC forms on websites! Step right up, peoples! Don't work harder than you have to to buy crap online!
Truly, I don't feel like these websites are out to steal your money. They're out to get as much money as possible out of you but come on, shit happens when you're involved in a ka-zillion transactions. Computers aren't perfect. And people aren't perfect, and mistakes are noticed when they add up because of the insane number of transactions that take place. So for me it boils down to chance of having to deal with a mistake and what might be the biggest headache EVER to deal with.
But hey, I haven't read the differences in horror stories. And C&B from what I've seen are indeed a bit shady(a charge for account inactivity? Really? I haven't used Paypal in like 5 years. Still don't see any charges for not using them)They're not quite the same, C&B and Paypal, but they're close enough. C&B might make a faulty charge to get some money out of you, hoping you don't take notice or something, but then Paypal will freeze your shit and there isn't anything in the world you can do about it.
Point is, WE DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS. WHY ARE WE DEALING WITH THIS. WHAT.

A whopping 6 whole complaints leads to a F rating at the BBB!? Sounds legit to me.

The BBB is only invovled with businesses in the United States and Canada.
ClickandBuy is in England and has no presence in North America.

The BBB is only invovled with businesses in the United States and Canada.
ClickandBuy is in England and has no presence in North America.
Which is why Click and Buy has a F rating. Which people are getting bent over nothing.

you also forget that paypal has become a member of the BBB, which I believe improves your score with them, if C&B has a presence in NA(US&Canada) I suspect they are not actually using it....besides that there are other companies that have dropped C&B so that brings up a red flag for me...

Those are complaints that weren't resolved to the satisfaction of the customer, or the BBB recieved no response from C&B on, and such. Can't see all the details on just what the issues were at that site, but you can get a general overview:
Complaint Resolution Log (6)
BBB Closure Definitions Complaint resolved with BBB assistance (2)
7/21/2009 Problems with Product/Service
4/3/2009 Billing/Collection Issues
1
BBB did not receive a response from business (2)
7/21/2010 Problems with Product/Service
10/10/2008 Delivery Issues
1
BBB found business made good faith effort to resolve complaint but customer not satisfied with business response (2)
8/19/2010 Problems with Product/Service
3/29/2010 Problems with Product/Service

That is also likely just against the NY division, and not the UK.
Someone had posted a link to SE somewhere and they had over 100 complaints, but they had like an A- rating or something. It's kinda hard to really evaluate them just on the BBB report alone.
As for the C&B vs. Paypal comparisons... Paypal has been around maybe a year longer, and I personally haven't had any of my banks/processors deny a transaction from Paypal. I started using about when they were just starting up (ebay introduced me to them). Never ran into issues setting up cards with them (except once when I got new number/date and I had to treat it as a new source, not really an issue). And I've used paypal for all kinds of stuff...even paid my power bill online through them for a while at my last address.
This may not be true for all banks and all instruments they carry though. But so far, I've changed cards a LOT over the years to take advantage of transfer offers (Citibank, Wachovia, NationsBank/BoA, Providian, Juniper, Chase, AMEX, Discover, some local banks I don't recall who issued them) and haven't run into any paypal issues with them because of authentication protocols (CVC/CVV2, nor 3DS/Jsecure/VBV/Safekey either)--nor using them with anyone other than paypal for that matter.
Yet... for some reason, C&B DOES set off an alarm for my main online card that I would use for FFXI.

FYI
In March 2010 Click and Buy was purchased by Deutsche Telekom, and I can assure you they are not into "fraud" or anything else everyone keeps posting about....
For regards to the BBB rating as others have stated they are not registered, and likely do not even monitor whatever the BBB sends/does as it wouldn't be through registered channels.....
Banks may flag the transaction but that's because its new and that's what they should do for new transactions

Number of hits in a google search isn't exactly a reliable metric to go by.
If google "bacon is the best" and get fewer hits than I get with "chicken is the best" (Didn't actually check this but I hope that wouldn't happen), does that mean chicken is better than bacon? No, it doesn't.
Someone had posted a link to SE somewhere and they had over 100 complaints, but they had like an A- rating or something. It's kinda hard to really evaluate them just on the BBB report alone.
BBB Ratings are based largely on complaint resolution. Number of complaints is a factor, but if it is determined that the company made a good faith effort to resolve each complaint then it will still have a good rating. Thus, if a company has 1000 complaints but successful resolved 980 of them to the customer's satisfaction, then it will have a high rating.
In the case of click and buy, the BBB rating is based on a grand total of 6 complaints (with only 2 resolved) in 3 years.
There could be a number of reasons for this, one of which is clickandbuy is not well known in the US and has a small fraction of the number of visitors as PayPal, as has been mentioned before. Of those, not many might think to contact the BBB to complain, and Clickandbuy is not accredited with the BBB. Note that they are simply not accredited, it doesn't mean the accreditation was taken away. No business is under any obligation to become accredited with them.
