What are people thinking about this as an in-game item?

Myself, unlike the Destrier, we get this across all characters. While I never have an urgent need to get to the Chocobo Circuit (and if you do, you have a strange gambling problem), at least you use it to get other major cities. Useful for warping out of field areas, and every so often, one can use it indirectly to get to other cities to buy supplies from vendors, etc. But that's just it, it's every so often, and level +30.

To be useful for crafting mules, one would have to level to 30 if they aren't
already. Not that that would take long, especially these days, but earrings from synergy can be used to get directly to where we want to be, and the recast are worlds shorter, and they can be used 10 levels earlier to get to the same places.

Considering that AF3 seals take up A LOT of space, and other Rare/EX items that
cannot be stored, something with utility this limited seems like something to toss
for the sake of inventory space.

Perhaps they could lower the recast to once per 24 hours, and the level to 10?

Otherwise, this seems like small recompense for the trouble we're being put through, assuming we go to that trouble at all.

Besides, it has a damage rating of only 3.

Could be another way to warp out of a finished event/party and you forgot to get a warp scroll.

That is all I'm seeing in this anyway.

You can exit to any of the three starter nations or jeuno when you use this item. (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/topics/special/110727.html)

Useful for when you need to get to one of the other starter nations, I guess.

It'll prolly be another Nexus Cape; only usable in certain zones.. Probably only usable in cities.

I think the limitation area-wise is the intermediate destination (only to the Chocobo Circuit), and the final destinations (starter cities and Jeuno). I'm pretty sure they'll let you use it from anywhere, just as you can activate the Nexus Cape anywhere; it just limits where your destination is.

I never could get the cape to work in a way to make it useful. Let's hope the wand is better, as you said. Still.. Once a week? Emergencies only, I suppose.

ya nexus doesnt ever work when you need it lol. they are both just items that mean you dont HAVE to set jeuno as your HP. cuz really thats the only place that takes over 10secs to get to. windurst takes a bit too if you dont have the OP or have it as your home nation.

but as said, the earrings are already way better. and once a week doesnt really excuse -1 inventory. the item is free at least.

Derailing my own thread, but...

One possible use for it were getting key items for ENMs in Attowa Chasm and Uly Range. Another way was i'd Maat's Cap to Jeuno to get soap for Limbus, then party members would just warp there straight from Einy, saving us both a lil bit of running. But that was then.

These days, what's Nexus Cape good for?

As I said, nothing as far as I've seen.

I've used it once or twice for Voidwatch.

I've used it a few times. To say it's useless just shows your inability to be creative.

Well the nice part of this is you can use it to exit to the city of your choice (except whitegate, why?) from the circuit.

C'mon man. If you're gonna one-up, ya gotta be specific about how you used it yourself, to prove your own creative abilities.

To me, it will come in handy occasionally when thrifty transit power isn't up.

I think you mean Ease of Exploration?

What pains me is that atm, this thread has gotten more views than a thread about asking if we're getting any kind of expansions or not given our payment uncertainties. Considering the stakes, our priorities seem skewed.
