Does the effect of skillup enhancing food (saltena/elshena for combat and Stuffed Pitaru/Poultry Pitaru for magic) carry over to the automaton also?
What about Prouesse Ring ?

It hasn't been proved, and I doubt it ever will considering just trying to cuantify the player increased skillup rate with and without food is already hard to do.
That said, I don't think it will affect pets, as food never affects them. Well, it will affect DRG pets for those DRG with the EF3+2 body, but... Eh, Dragoon's wyverns don't need skillups, so ;)

SE added the Percolator to help automatons skillup.

Well aware of new attachments but that was NOT the point of this thread, it's to find out if skillup food/items on master carry over to the automaton.

Signet doesnt affect our pet (proven) so martial master wont affect them
Unless the gear says Pet: increases skill rate, the effect is localized to the master
Food affects are not shared with our pets so no it wont benefit them either

Not really anything to do with skill up, but what if SE introduced a new automaton oil that reduces "Overload" chances?

Well, I didn't actually write down or log any of my data, but I basically spent the last day leveling and skilling up PUP from 84 to 90. I pretty much full timed Prouessse Ring and Saltena food (except for an nm fight with the opo opo in Abyssea - La Theine). My hand-to-hand skill was pretty low, even for my level. I started at 223 skill and got it all the way up to 327 by the day's end. If i remember right my automaton's melee skill was somewhere near 200 and was at 230 ish by the days end. Automaton magic skill was around 251 and ended at 286. All in all, I would say that the effects don't carry over. (Keep in mind I also DO NOT have the new attachment that increases skill gains).

Why would we want that, considering we don't overload anymore with Collar + AF1 hands + AF3+1/2 body?

@timemage ...oh? I put my pup in storage way back at 75 cap. Unfortunately, you fail to see the point. You take a perspective @ endgame point out a fully unlocked empreyean armor also at lvl 90. I however, was pointing out to average geared Puppetmaster from lvl 1-99. For those of is still working on endgame stuff. Overload is still bothering us unfortunately, and adding a slight improvement would be very helpful.
