View Full Version : [SMN] Please move away from the idea of 2hour Avatars.

I cannot stress this enough. Odin and Alexander are virtually useless outside of abyssea (and even inside unless you have ISL chests).

Part of the fun of being a SMN is having the pet out and fighting alongside you. Abyssea took this to a new level allowing us to keep our pets out for extended periods of time via the refresh atmas, and it was a change for the better.

However, the 2 hour avatars are a clear disappointment. They may look cool... They may have a unique semi-useful attack or buff... but if you can only glimpse them for a few moments whenever you 2 hour its all rather pointless.

And please don't troll stating the obscure use the current 2 hour avatars have and how you use it all the time.

I thought it said somewhere that Cait Sith and Atomos would be like the original avatars, not just 2H.

You may want to move this thread out of the Site Feedback. You'll probably get more of a discussion on this in a forum about the game! I agree with you though... 2 hrs is too long, maybe 30 min?

Keep in mind WHY you can use them as 2hr abilities only. The idea was to drain the power of the astral rifts to prevent Alexander and Odin from coming through and starting another Ragnarok, but not risk the rifts fully opening.

I agree with this sentiment. Astral Flow avatars are not much of an incentive to finish ToAU missions to start with. As powerful as Zantetsuken and Perfect Defense may be, limiting Odin and Alexander to 2-hour status is about as absurd as Call Wyvern was for Dragoons.

Please consider this when releasing Atomos & Cait Sith. If you're going to compel us to finish the Wings missions, these two avatars should be available full-time.
