If Summoner's going to be useful as an Avatar's Favor party buffer, we need more pet commands. Especially something like Stay. That way we could tell our avatar to stay here, so that they can provide buffs (say Ifrit's Favor and Enfire) without having to assault and feed the mob TP.

Only problem is the avatar's "need" to protect the Summoner.

Having them stay would be the same as them not saving our skins when it comes to protecting us.

If you really feel like that's the point of the Avatars, then maybe perhaps if the Summoner gets on top of the hate list, have the avatar attack the mob.

What gibberish are you talking? You say it like someone would enter a zone, use command "stay" then run through it and get aggro and go "Damn new ability! You killed me!".

Obviously you use stay on monsters tanked by someone to keep BLMs and such refreshed, and casting pacts from a safer distance. If you ever catch hate in a 18 man alliance, you are probably doing something wrong.

Naw, instead, an aggro from behind comes up to you while you are behind the BLMs, and pwns your ass before anyone realizes it. Instead of having Ifrit save you, you have it near the DDs for DA+.

Same situation. Also, why would a SMN be in an 18 man alliance and not have the avatar on the mob(s) in question? Its not like the TP fed by the avatar is going to make that much of a difference. Heck, you can even melee on that mob too, as long as you don't get your rump handed to you on a platter by AoE move spam.

Assault? Or are you suggesting that there are monsters walking around near your mages that one shot them? Pretty bad alliance placement there.

Bringing an alliance to kill something is already a bad alliance placement anyway.

I was referring more to having for something like Voidwatch, lol. Something that you wouldn't want feeding TP. Also if it actually stayed and didn't move when you got aggro would be great. Trying to perp favor at Ouryu(obviously old content doesn't really matter, but if they ever do anything like that...) --it was impossible. Diabolos would go after worms halfway across the screen that didn't even aggro you. :x
