I think tags should be added when an OP starts a thread, and then the option to tag should be closed. I notice on threads where there is heated discussion, the ability to tag threads can be used to troll the OP or writers in the thread. This is not the intent of tags. They are used as an anonymous way of attacking people, and it needs to stop.

Could make it so that the OP has the right to remove tags, and that tag will not be able to be used for that post again.

Some means to report tag abuse needs to happen. For now, I think the best that can be done is to report the OP diverting attention immediately to the tags themselves. Nonetheless, I know the RDM boards get hit pretty consistently, and it's not much of a stretch to guess who's doing it since they're also the same ones so quick to tell us we're all retarded, among other not so thinly veiled insults.
