Good day, I would like to start by saying that after a 3 year break I'm much pleased that FFXI it's still going healthy and strong, just like a game of the calibre should be.

Stated the break I took from the game, I recently decided to give it another tried as friends kept telling me to come back and well so I did, and I'm so glad I did because the game is indeed very fun right now, and the fact we won't have take days LFG its a given.

The thing is, I'm really struggling to keep my Traversers Stones up and running.

I mean yes I do understand that the game can't be 100% focused on Abyssea for the new players or they won't see the rest of the content, but the Devs can't only think about that, they have also to think about the "new/old comers".

I have seen everything the game has to offer prior to Abyssea and some WOTG, which happened right before i took my break from the game.

My gear was Med/High, I had my skills capped.

What I'm getting at with this is: either I can do Abyssea or I will have to hang around town making time for more stones to build up. Or well just join an Exp Ally to make 120mins and leave so I can do more Abyssea for Items/Seals.

So what I'm suggesting is:

Similar to what is happening to Voidwatch, had an option to buy, say for example, Traverser Dust, from the conquest NPC, so people would still have to farm Conquest Points, but would be more friendly to get into Abyssea for those that are "new comers" but are already ready to move on.

Not everyone is starting from scratch.

That's my idea, I tried to put it simple and clean, give your feedback guys, no need to flame just debating and willing to read some more ideas, Pros and Cons.

Thanks

If you get all your Celerity abyssites and Sojourn abyssites, you should have no problem keeping up when it comes to stones. Get those and leave the game alone for a week or so, and you should have a stock when you come back.

Most people I know have 200+.

Get 3/3 Celerity abyssites and you will never really have a problem with stones again.

I'm doing a lot of Abyssea stuff for myself and my linkshell and yet still have almost 400 stones. Day after the game started again from the earthquake in Japan, I had 180~ stones.

Some people I know have 700+ stones.

I don't think anyone really is hurting for stones at the moment to be honest.

What they said. I used to struggle for stones, but once you get the celerity abyssites, even if it's only 2 of them, your stones will build up fast.

I, for one, did have issues with 'keeping them up' even with all the key items to make things better.

I simply did stuff there that much by myself or with a couple of friends, without being able to effectively build up time. Only now that I have been on a kind-of-a-break from the game, and not really doing stuff in Abyssea if I do get on, have I been able to get to 3 digits.

So yeah, I agree that the beginning of it could be less restrictive. In a sense, you buy a game, and then they come and take the controller away/turn the game off every now and then (not that I'm saying it is all that there is to do, no, I don't even like Abyssea really, probably mostly due to the annoying start I had with it).

Can you even imagine they said that the system was to protect players' eyes?
I myself still can't quite believe they said that...

SEE this is what I don't get. I get like 800 stones with these KIs but my brother still barely can get enough stones to matter with all 3, since technically you're supposed to get 3 a day as it recharges 8 hours, however he still seems to get only 1 day. They're also suppose to 'recount' your stone count when you get them. It did for me but not him.

So yeah the KIs help, but SE could have made this a lot less annoying towards new players.

This is exactly my point, I have the 3 Abyssites, but there is no way 3 stones per day can keep up with an above average game-play.

Having said that I came back after a 3 year break, of course my goal right now, its to catch up with the content, be it quests, gear, seals, abyssites, etc.

Which like now its pretty much impossible, because when people departs to farm seals, they just relay on Stones, no one will TE farm.

Anyway, my suggestion to do it like Void Dust, seems like a positive way to do the things

I'm not sure what OP's post has to do with making stones more "user friendly." It seems to me he's complaining about having to build them up. That's how its supposed to be. You earn Abyssites inside the areas to improve your stones and get more of them faster.

3 stones a day should be more than enough for anyone. Just farm up some time extensions and you'll rarely even need to use more stones. I spend a lot of time in abyssea, but I dont use up stones because we always farm light for a little while beforee we kill NMs or whatever. IMO there's no excuse for running out of time. More often than not I leave with more time remaining than when I started.

I have over 400 stones in the bank because of this... Want some?

Stop wasting time in abyssea get TEs don't go with pick up groups till you have a stock pile. Never use mpore then 2 going to exp runs that can get you 2 free stones right there. You took a 3 year break whats a another week.

You shouldn't spend any stones getting to 90 and the cuor gear is good enough to do the other thing outside of abyssea that you won't need stones for. Come back to abyssea you'll have more stones.
