Question about CC 3d secure for non new players

Ok, Ive been playing ffxi now for 6 years and have used the same cc for it, I started on the ps2 and when i registered it didn't ask for the card to be 3d secure.. here's my question. Since I started on the ps2 and still play it on there on occasion will I have to have a 3d secure credit card when this all goes down or is this just for new players for the pc? I know the xbox is also like the ps2 in the sense of it doesn't have a browser but with everything I've read there making it out like all 3 systems will have to use 3d secure cards.
