I've been playing this game on ps2, since release. When I left for awhile, and ultimately got a second ps2 to play it my mom took over my old ps2 and game.

Now, is the first time I've had a serious problem with the game, and I haven't a clue how to fix it and I've gotten little support from calling, and emailing them. So I figured I should ask here.

My moms characters Shebear [Slyph] is stuck in a cut-scene for Shades of Vengeance [ToAU]. For some reason when she finishes the cut-scene, it won't download her character back. It just stops, and goes black.

I can access my characters, and she can get to other characters on her account.

They told me a few things :
It was a problem with my router not opening ports
It could the ps2 hdd drive
And a few other things that would involve lots of money [i.e. use on computer, or such.]

Now, aside from trying to find a new HDD [yea... that won't happen], or spending at least 200-300 on a ps3 or xbox... I'm left wondering what to do. So I tried opening ports...

Now, I've opened all the ports except for 80 and 443 simply because I was told not to. I'm also not really positive I opened the ports right.

My friend linked me to this

Now, I need to know before I try pulling a miracle out of no where, if it is the ports or something else.

More details :
As the cut scene ends, we hear a faint sound [like when you turn off a tv, but our tv isn't turning off.] and it just stays black. Now, I've tried leaving it on just black for a few hours and nothing.

This really is my moms hobby, and she has friends on here. She only plays twice a week, and really enjoys it. Please, any help?

Edit :

I've spent several hours on the phone, and I've been talking with tons of people to try and help me. So, It's not like I haven't tried///

These kinds of crashes and freezes are becoming all too common the PlayStation 2, and Square-Enix hasn't given any indication of doing anything about it.

So... have you had your mom try temporarily logging onto an Xbox 360 or PC to finish that CS?
