This is kinda tied into http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/686-What-Everybody-Wants-Shorter-Simpler-Macros

Do you have multiple Staves, Torques, Obis, Gorgets. Grips. rings etc in ur inventory for the spells and abilities you use the most? I know I do, and I've lost several rare items due to the fact that fully equipped I have under 5 slots on my two main jobs.

Basically I propose that we get a new macro command, /bag.

This command would use the already existing functions to add and remove items, with out having to bring up the nasty slow /satchel user interface. It shouldn't use any additional memory and should be PS2 safe, as all these items are already referenced 24/7 when the game decides if we are eligible for an item.

What this would allow us to do is type /bag satchel remove Ice staff and the next line /bag satchel add Terra's Staff and effectively only keep the 20 pieces of equipment we were gonna have on for the ability we were going to use. Effectively cutting down on the number of items we have to keep in our active inventory. Since SE can't gives us Universal Torques,Obis,Gorgets, HQ staves etc, or more than 80 inventory this seems like a viable alternative to our inventory woes.

comments and suggestions welcome, thank you for reading this post ^^

I could imagine that they could add universal gear, specificly elemental staves, grips and Obis, torques arent really nececcery because unless you are a war using all weapons you will really only have 1 or 2 torques (if you are talking about sea ones) a trial would work, "obtain all the element staves, grips or obis and I will merge thier power into one".

but that /bag satchel xxx command would not work because it would use alot of macros, a more efficient way would be to allow gear to be macroed from your satchel or sack however this could cause problems with ps2 limitations but adding 3 more pieces of gear for universal elemental gear would be no problem

Rainbow staff {can I have it?}

I'm talking about the skill torques, earrings, and grips which can make or break landing a spell, or topping out a buff. As far as macro space is concerned, its easily managed. Obi's are optional yes, but +10-30 skill can make or break sticking a potent debuff at times.
