Ok first off yea absorb lock sounds dumb but it describes the abilty best.
The idea is that once used the next Absorb will last 5 mins and not get reduced for 5 mins also the recast should be either 5 mins or 2.5 mins.
This would make absorbs worth casting ^^ and not be overpowered and could work with drain II :)
Could prolly be named better tho lol

Kinda cool, but absorbs would have to do more, or we'd need an absorb that was worth it besides the useless Stat ones.
If we had like absorb def, or atk, or something this would be pretty neat.

This idea is ridiculous. First off the decay of absorb spells is without a doubt one of the dumbest things SE has ever came up with. Second with absorb spells we have the potential to turn a battle in our favor, except the absorbs don't exactly work correctly so this also doesn't work. Third if you wanted it to be useful you'd have to have be able to be used on multiple absorb spells so a 2.5-5min timer is way to long it needs to be at max 30 secs and then it would just be easier to remove the decay from all absorb spells rather than put this job ability in the game. Ultimately as its been said in many posts absorb spells need to be fixed in the following way: Remove decay, increase effect and duration, and allow it to be stackable with cruor buffs.

So the same idea isn't ridiculous lol
Not to mention u mustn't of read the idea saying

if the recast is 2.5 mins and the absorbs last 5 mins then u could keep 2 absorbs up full time.
Either way the major flaw i see with the absorb stat spells is to get a decent stat boost u need to spam em and if ya spamming em u'll be losing dmg from ya melee. Casting them once every 5 mins imo solves a major flaw in them and being limited to choosing 1/2 absorbs (epsically if this includes drain II) is the balance side of it.

Having a job ability do what should the spells themselves should do is not the same idea, and its still ridiculous that what you want is a job ability that we have to rely on in order to have our spells work the way they should. On you comment of having 2 absorb spells up at a time well lets see we could do what you suggest and limit ourselves to only 2 spells or we can fix absorb spells period and have more than 5 up if we wanted to. Hmmmmmm, I see your point 2 is greater than 5. The point has been brought up over and over again and its this, absorb spells shouldn't have decay, and they should have increased power and duration, which btw this is even considering you use nether void on them to increase their effect because without nether void, hell even with its still not up to par in what they should be at this point (granted I'm sure the numbers are a bit closer if you have the mythic scythe). Finally and this is the most important part so please pay attention, absorbs need to be able to stack with cruor buffs, you hear that SE, every other stat buff in this game can stack with cruor buffs so why can't our absorb spells.......lemme guess ps2 limitations.

Honestly i don't really want to cast more than 2 absorbs every 5 mins(ex Absorb-tp) i like the idea of spell to complement the melee.
Either way i was just saying the ideas are very similar both ways to increase absorbs effectiveness and slamming one idea cause it's slightly different from how you want to play DRK isn't gonna get us anywhere.
Anyway if they did it your way then yea we'd not need a Ja but with a Ja limiting 1-2 absorbs the absorbs can be more powerful cause of balance.
They can get past curor buffs since the WHM or RDM spell Gain-Stat stacks with em it's just SE are lazy lol.
Just as a side note it would be great if you broke up ur text rather than having a wall of text since it's easy to read your points/opinions.
