View Full Version : Campaign Weapon Skill Unlocks: Yes please!

Hello,

I was wondering if the Dev team would ever be interested in creating a quest that allowed players to "unlock" the Campaign WS like Trial/Mythic WS (so many WSP or whatnot).

An unlockable WS might be something to entice players back to campaign, even if limitedly, but really it is because these WS (Uriel/Glory/Torpor) are just neat content that is so narrowly available that they might as well not exist.

Just a thought, thanks for all your hard work!

The Devs said outright that the campaign ws were "too powerful" to be allowed use outside of campaign. Probably because a lot of them are AoE and do decent damage.


Though, I'm not so sure that really flies as an excuse anymore given the obscenity of the some of the more powerful Empyrean WS like Jishnu's Radiance and Ukko's Fury.


Personally I'd rather they just let us skill up in Campaign finally.

I do recall this being said, But outside of maybe the AoE Terror WS the DRK uses, none of them are extravagantly powerful. At 75 yes, at 90 with things like Fell Cleave and Sonic Thrust, they're not as wtfamazing i agree.

Maybe they'll change their minds :X?

Nor do player often handle hordes of mobs. Other than einghjar and a few specific battles. AoE damages are just in the BLM -aga III range. Not counting modifiers for campaign weapons.

Yes please :D.. I do some campaign every now and again when i get a bit bored of other things or just have nothing to do. I have always liked Uriel Blade especially with it's added effect, and as said it may draw a liimted amount of interest back to WoTG content.

Death Knell would require all NMs to be reworked to have an immunity to it.

Obviously if they were to give us those weaponskills they'd be modified to some extent anyways. I see no reason they couldn't. It would be nice to have a decent damage aoe weaponskill for most classes. Most of them would not be overpowered, especially once the cap is 99 anyways.

Also, I forget where I posted this but I had an idea for "copY/mimic sword". Basically, a sub hand weapon that is equitable by any job and has DMG 1, Delay 1, "Dual Wield" Latent Effect: Copies Weapon Skill.

Much like the Magian:Weaponskill trial, player would need to perform each weaponskill a given amount of time per skill. Each skill once performed the minimum times would be copied over into the weapon. This would work for all Weaponskills (per weapon type). So Job specific strikes, relic strikes, mythic strike, empreyean strikes, and so forth would augment the copy sword. Each successful trial would add a minimum DMG and Delay, until the weapon is finalized at lvl 99.

Obviously, each individual player must have the specific job level to actually use a weaponskill, or have the relic, mythic etc unlocked, campaign items/job etc. Each weapon type would still have those jobs that could use them only equip them.

OR, any jobs why not...players would still need combat skill levels in the weapons or be able to equip them naturally.
