Cure Banned

One of my friends heard about the Cure glitch and decided to try it out. He killed two too weak skeletons in Xarc, had a laugh, and logged out for the maintenance. Now he is banned with LM-17. Did you seriously ban paying customers for something you immediately patched?

I find it really hard to believe as well. I would rather see them just take away what people might have gained from it.

Banning for it serves for no real purpose, unless it was clearly abused for profit. Only effect it would have for the rest is just grief and annoyance, and maybe teach not to try the bugs out. However, this could just as well be used accidentally, without knowing of it. If what you posted is really true to the letter, the player should contact the Customer Support and explain the matter; it really would not be fair nor would it make any sense.

They won't ban for this, they would if anything roll back his char.

Maybe he just wanted to quit/change server to get away from you...or was banned for something else? Or this whole thing is made up, any of these are more likely than what you posted.

aye, I would have to agree it has to fake or you are not getting the full story. I doubt he would be the only 1 banned if they were banning or we would have seen a lot more complaints

However, there's some precedence for things like this - Square Enix has, on many occasions banned people for things they immediately patched. Granted, Exploits of this nature tend to be dealt with immediately, need I remind anyone of the massive ban hammer that was dropped regarding the Alexandrite and Item Dup. problem that arose a few years back? This isn't nearly on that level, but i've heard tell of a couple of people who had similar problems as a result.

Something that was abused for months and months to dupe items is not the same as something doing extra dmg for an hour. This is more along the same scale as Sneak attack working from the front for that one day or however long it lasted.
