Dear SE Development Team:

It's nice to finally be able to face this notorious fiend, the Almighty Apkallu and take home the cape and boots he guarded for so long.

You've now changed the spawn conditions, but I'm sure that everyone is curious as to what they originally were? I know you don't normally give out "inside" information, but now that it's no longer relevant and there's no way to figure it out, won't you reveal the answer to the puzzle that stumped so many adventurers for so long?

Thanks!

Birdman cape didn't drop from almighty apkallu. It dropped from the treasure hunt popped bird NM.

No, it definitely dropped (and still drops) from Almighty Apkallu.
I killed it the other day and it dropped Birdman Cape and Skanda Boots.

I always figured it was something that banked on certain ToAU conditions. SE hints aren't historically great or even all that useful. For example, mass murdering of other Apkallus might have resulted in the "pixie effect" so to speak. Fewer and fewer might have spawned and lured the ole boy out finally because he doesn't like being left alone. I'll bet the farm and my ex wife that popping him had nothing to do whatsoever with that boat trip. You of course needed to be on the boat to catch him when he did spawn but getting him to spawn was unrelated to that boat ride. Hence I mention the pixie effect ie not killing pixies would result in their survival to the present. Here it would be killing apkallus would result in AA being lonely.

And if that is the case who's to say just how many had to die in order for it to happen. You could have sat there and terminated hundreds and not even scratch the surface because they weren't dying fast enough or whatever. Or it might have been as simple as no one riding on the boat for 24 hours.

Well seeing as its based on Him not wanting to be alone, it is probably based on the TOTAL number of people who were on server. Since the update they Lowerd the number required to spawn and I have seen it back to back trips and each hour for 10 hours while i was going back and forth to nash and WG. I have only killed this once, and have left it alone since boots and Cape dont sell and are pointless to me.

Okay yes, I just killed 4 in 2 boat rides. They definitely drop birdman's cape. Both times an apkallu jumped on board the ship. then 5ish mins later another apkallu jumped on board. Then a few minutes after that one depopped and became almighty apkallu. While fighitng him, the other one depopped and became almighty apkallu.

So by not being alone I think it means there needs to be more than 1 unclaimed apkallu on board.
