I'm going to go ahead and suggest something extreme, unlocking all jobs at the start of Final Fantasy XI. Now before you tear off my head I have a catch build up in my mind.

Before I discuss the catch I'd like to discuss the job field as they stand today. While playing the 6 main jobs gives a player an "experience" of all job aspects, forcing player to get to level 30, just to taste a new "job" is pointless in current Vanadiel. I remembered when first buying this game only wanting to play Summoner. I picked Redmage cause it offered a "balanced" approach to the game and level to 3o unlocking summoner with assistance. Did I really learn anything when doing unlocking quest...not really they were just coloring.

Unlocking ALL jobs at the start gives players the opportunity to play any job they want to fulfill their love of game, not what other people love are. However, I would add...Here comes the catch...
...All players as they reach lvl 30 WOULD HAVE TO COMPLETE their advance job quest to break 30 cap.. This would effectively create a new series of cap quests at 30. This also would require Square Enix, to create 6 new "advance jobs" quest for War, MNK, WHM, BLM, RDM, and THF.

I do recognize that some jobs would require little work arounds such as Summoners NOT having access to carby, wing of Altana jobs, and puppet masters. Summoners could be given access to earth spirits at start, puppet master could be given a "training Cardian" from windy's manustery, and just skip over the lost scholar and dancers jobs. After all who doesn't "dance" and "read". Though a Scholar's light/dark are do present a problem, but could just be "ignored".

I'd also like to mention, isn't it time for a Summoners mini Fenrir and diabols fight at level 20, if not 30 or 40?

I'm not totaly against your suggestion but the way you want to get the advanced jobs makes the "advanced" obsolet.
Right now the player has to learn the basics and then he can access a wide area of advanced jobs via quest.

Your way will only create SMN/- or BRD/- kindjobs that are worthless to play/invite without a subjob.

I'll admit was kinda extreme, but most job level 1-10 or even -20 don't really shine anyway. I remember leveln summoner with carby and thinking I can't even keep it out all that long at lower lvls. "Advance jobs" are a kinda useless idea, but I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the quests. I'm always up for storyline quests, heck I've even support idea for the next series of "job quests" and new missions and quest whether nation, expansion packs and whatnot.

Really look at all job...even with subs won't see all that much improvements until u hit lvl 20 or so.

Of all the things wrong with this game, having to wait til lv30 to get the job you want is kind of low on the list. If you start the game with a good plan, that lv30 can be used as a sub job or to beat Maat.

Being a player who choices for sub jobs is as varied as main job choices, this argument that the 6main jobs are the best sub job choices is kinda false in my opinion.

The concept of the "advanced" job is also kinda false. I think this concept most likely goes back to Final Fantasy 1. Where those jobs advanced during the Bahamut trials. Playing a summoner is nothing like playing a white Mage or redmage. Playing a bard is nothing like playing a thief, etc. Subn job don't really offer anything until lvl 10 or 20, when players start getting access to their sub jobs main abilities.

Aa far as the quests involved in the "advanced" jobs, I don't intended to ignore those. They are mostly interesting and take players to the corners of starting nations.

If players start with any of the jobs, and work till sub job quest, unlocking all job doesn't really subtract anything from the game. Players still have to hit each progression point to first unlock sub jobs, then lvl 30 cap.
