After updating, I went to FINAL FANTASY XI Config to select 2048 x 2048 from the Background Resolution drop-down on the Screen Size tab. The new option is listed there, but below it are then listed all the same options from the Overlay Graphics Resolution drop-down (e.g. 640 x 480, etc.).

I haven't had the opportunity to try any of these other options yet.

I noticed that too, after the 2048x2048 mine shows from 640x480 all the way up to 1366x768 the max resolution of my laptop display, I'm hoping this isnt a bug and they will leave it

The answer to nearly all blanks is "This is the config program, not in-game."

Platform: PC
Steps:
1. log into PlayOnline Viewer
2. download latest FINAL FANTASY XI patch
3. log out of and close PlayOnline Viewer
4. open "FINAL FANTASY XI Config" application
5. click "Screen Size" tab
