Are there any plans with the upcoming changes to dynamis dreamlands areas and limbus areas that would allow players to upgrade their AF+1 and Relic+1 gear to +2 versions?
Would be nice to see that all the work done in other events wasn't for nothing since almost all of the pieces are trumped by newer gear and AF3+2.
Adding +2 versions of relic and AF could also reinvigorate older events, if people had amazing gear to work towards, otherwise all the changes that can be done don't serve much purpose, and the game could die with abyssea nearing it's end for alot of the playerbase with nothing new and exciting to look foward to from the revamped events.

I'd like to see a +2 version of my AF1 and 2.
At least there are some nice parts that could be combined with normal or AF3 equipment.
By the way - it would make the world a bit more colorfull since most people 24/7 in AF3 - hell WAR AF1 looks the best on Mithra. ;p

On one hand, I'd love to see +2 AF, etc. On the other hand, you're asking for 200 new armor pieces with new stats and new icons. For a superficial upgrade (which is really all most AF+1/AF2+1 is), I would bet it could take one person a little less than a week to go through, duplicate the items, adjust the stats, and adjust the icons (blue box). For a more meaningful upgrade, you're talking about the main focus of a patch.

I'd prefer to see a revamp of the current +1s, many of them are a minimal improvement as opposed to AF3+1 vs +2. Nothing game breaking, just more of an improvement over the +1 so it's actually worth going through the effort to HQ.

It would be nice, would give us 3 different sets for different purposes - Our Relic, Artifact, and Empyrean, the same way we have Mythic Relic and Empyrean weapons.

It all depends on the gears stats after being upgraded through the trial of magians some AF+2 or Relic+2 could outdo some pieces and as their +2 versions they could have differant set procs as well.

I don't think it's pointless to think about a +2 upgrade for AF1/2 .
In case you compare AF1 vs. AF2 there where allways pieces that where superior while otheres where strictly situational.
The same goes for AF3 - you can wear it 24/7 but you won't perform in the best possible way.
But one thing has to change before we could dream about AF1/2 +2 - the way we have to get the necessary items to upgrade them +1 (I've AF2 in mind).

no keep old outdated content in its place. personally I don't like wearing old skins with little extra buffs, I rather have new fresh things if you know what I mean.

So you want that SE introduce more new items instead of refine what's allready in the game?
A refinement of what's allready ingame is a good way and I hope they will do it and make it an non-Abyssea event.
After month I'm bored. I like to get new items to upgrade my equipment but there must be an alternative to abyssea.

Absolutely. Depends on how many hoops we have to jump through to upgrade.
Sky gear is upgradeable through Synergy, I hope other gear upgrades Don't take this path. Having a variety of options would be nice. Since you'll need AF+1 and AF2+1 to upgrade them to the +2 items, and since the Limbus guy in Port Jeuno handles this, it'd be nice if you could upgrade them using similar methods.
Anyway it's a good idea to allow upgrading of older gear, it keeps the events associated with them (Sky, Limbus, Dynamis, Assault, Nyzul Isle, etc) relevant and worth doing.

Ugh. Let old content remain in the past.

Yeah I'm against "upgrading " old gear. I'm much rather allow those pieces to be used for a higher endgame piece. Thereby killing 3 birds with one stone. Players not "skipping over" old gear, Player not skipping "Old COntent". And finally, Players Acquiring superior gear.

So What's the difference? Trading in AF and Relic for lvl 90+ gear or upgrading the old pieces. It's still the same thing, you're getting a better piece of gear as the result.
