View Full Version : [Devs] Can we get an updated macro system please?

It would be much nicer if we could swap all of our gear in one macro. Or perhaps let us setup sets of gear that we can then reference in macros. I shouldn't have to press a billion keys just to cast a few spells with the highest efficiency.

They should add a command called /next that causes the macro to jump to the next macro pallet down and continue executing lines. That way you can use as many macro lines as you want and on the last set of lines you use /set [number] to return to the original macro pallet. This could be easily implemented (the /set command almost does this already) and it would work on the PS2 as well.

I believe the only reason they didn't implement something like that in the first place is the issue of potential automation. The Devs don't like players having the ability to automate tasks while we're away, be it Scavenging or Enhancing/Singing/Summoning skillups.

Putting [Devs] in your topic title does not get you more dev attention than not doing it. Stop doing it.
On topic, I think it would be much nicer if we didn't have to swap half a dozen peices of gear for every little thing. If there's one thing FFXIV did that was intelligent, it was disallowing gear swapping in combat.

Insert Beating Dead Horse joke here. Though, preset sets that we can reference in macros is smart. Or you could buy a computer and the FFXI abyssea collection and download windower like everyone else.
It's already been said that macro's cannot be changed so drastically that they would actually be user friendly.
Why not? You sure you want to know?
PS2.
