The game would become a lot more mouse-friendly if double clicking didn't launch your cursor to the bottom-left hand corner of the screen and pop open a menu.

Why not just remove that "feature" and save it for the keyboard/controller?

FFXI is primarly a mouse+keyboard game, but it would be nice on occasion to the use the cursor to select something instead of tabbing or pressing a function key.

Take your hanfd off of the mouse and unplug the controller.

lol mouse use...
seriously, all you need to play ffxi is the keyboard. It's one of the reasons I love FFXI.

I agree do NOT move the mouse cursor when a menu appears.

No. You can play with a gamepad only. Or a mouse only. Or a keyboard only. Or any combination of the three. I prefer gamepad + keyboard. But you may not. And you may love something, others may not.

So don't tell people how to play.

BTW... I bet a TON of $$$ or GIL that you do not know how to zoom in and out on the map screen. :)

I knew this whm once who targeted everything with the mouse, probably the worst player I had ever had the misfortune of playing with.

sure I know how to zoom in and out on the map screen, it's the same as zooming the camera normally - how does that relate to me thinking the mouse is only a hindrance.
plus I said "need" as in: you can use a controller/mouse too, but the bare minimum the game requires is a keyboard.
