Character Name: Lancil
Race: ElvaanM
World: Valefor
Main Job: Dragoon, Lv.90
Support Job: Samurai
Area and Coordinates: Abyssea - Tahrongi, I-5
Party or Solo: 2 parties, about 10 persons.
NPC Name: None
Monster Name: Glavoid

Steps:
Dragoon sub Samurai using a Cerastes +2. I would run in like normal to weaponskill. Since I hit the monster first my wyvern should have used an elemental breath after my weaponskill. After checking my log I confirmed it did not use any breath attacks after 3 straight weaponskills. The order of abilities Angon, Sekkanoki, Meditate, Hasso and all jumps and red proc did not make a difference. Once NM was dead I used /pet <pettp> and TP was still at 300%. I then used spiritlink and received 150 tp cutting its tp in half as well.

Weaponskills used in the fights Drakesbane and Raiden Thrust.

After all Glavoid pops were expended I weaponskilled on the nearest sandworm and my wyvern used a normal breath attack. Later that evening my group also fought lacovie and it also used it then as well.

Your wyvern is probably not using breaths because it would CURE the worm or have no/limited effect. So not a bug.

This cannot be true. If a wyvern uses an elemental breath that would heal an enemy, then the wyvern would gain the HP, not the monster. You can test this via puks.

First time I've heard DRG pets doing that.. and I would call it a major bug... the breath should cure the target, not the pet.
Perhaps SE stealth-fixed it so it won't use breaths at all in absorb situations.

Could you see if your pet still cures itself with Gust Breath on puks?

Actually, it says the Wyvern recovers, But its a text glitch as far as i know, the puk actually recovers.

Point is clear though, the Wyvern would still use their breath on a mob that absorbs magical damage.

What about resistance then? Wyverns favor elements that resist less.. but what if ALL elements are heavily resisted? Automatons have a similar issue, where they will simply not cast at all if the mob has a strong resistance to all elements. (Depending on head and certain attachments.)

In any case, whatever the reason, I doubt it's a bug. Since normal sandworms and other NMs are still subject to breath attacks, it's obvious that Glavoid has some kind of immunity to breath attacks (Breath Shield) and the wyvern will thus not use them.

You might simply be the first to actually notice it and report it to the community.
Perhaps you could ask on the DRG forums if any other DRG has seen similar behaviour on Glavoid or other NMs.

wyverns will still breathe.

Unless that AI glitch has now transferred. Either way, I Can't recall ever fighting Glavoid with a DRG so i couldn't explain it. but i do know they will still breathe on mobs that Absorb certain elements, so that isn't the issue.

I have fought Glavoid in the past on Drg as well, and my wyvern used its breath then.
