I'll call it "enchantment" for lack of a better name. Basically, creating a new path or use existing crafts such as synergy or alchemy, to create magical scrolls which cast various spells. These scrolls would be useable by any jobs and would require time to cast and subject to interruption. Once used the scrolls would be destroyed(1 time use). These scrolls could be stacked up to (12).

Originally, I wanted to limit the magic scroll use to specific "rare" magic. Stuff like curse, magic shield, physical shield or even the mob only spells like Diaga2. But, why not have a new system of casting and Gil source? All spells would be up for grabs except ones that are already replicated in items such as invisible, sneak, deodorize.

One could go even further and based on rare item formulas could in effect, gain additional 2 hr. Job ability scrolls. With penalties such as "medicated" effect to limit
1-2 hr /JA per earth hour?

It's already in the game. It's called anima synthesis. It uses equipment because it allows SE to limit the jobs and levels.

So rather then scrolls, use wands and staves. Craft the base version with synergy + woodworking, then 100 woodworking skill to add anima effects.
