Just had 3 total loss failures on a 95 recipe with total of 107 Skill.
Enough!
Crafting is not worth it.
Just sick of SE's attitude towards it.
I'll leave it to who ever wants to think they can make it worth their while.
Cheers:mad:

lol... nice rage post.

But I agree...it is frustrating to get breaks on something you obviously shouldn't have any trouble making, then add insult to the injury and loose mats on it. It's even more infuriating when it's because the system tried to HQ an item that has NO HQ result.

I know it's an absurd analogy, but it's like having your hot dogs rendered unedible because you nuked them a little too long in the microwave and they split open a little.

Were you facing the HQ or success direction? What was the day and moon phase? You could have had triple success down.
Did you have any conflicting elemental buffs?

Lol direction.. I thought that urban myth would have died when crafting died...

I failed 3 of 12 arrowwood synths in a row at 99 woodworking skill last year. There's always that 5% fail rate.

I've noticed that fails (and HQs) tend to cluster. (Meaning that a particular result has a higher chance of occuring if it happened just before.) So I always do a small 'distraction' (talk to NPC, move around, etc) if I fail. Not sure if it's actually the case, but like direction, it won't hurt your chances if you believe in it. (Nor will it hurt you if you don't.)

I'm surprised people actually care about the moon phase still.

What a bunch of loonies.

iv actuly keep records of all my crafting binges. Specific moon phases did yeild better results then others over the long haul.

I remember seeing similar result in an old Alla thread way long time ago. Dunno if it was ever followed up on though. Didn't have phenomenal sample sizes, but was pretty consistent.

Let's see your data then.

Noone in over 6? years has ever produced any convincing data that supports the myth. Even the devs cracked a smile at the mention of it on a Q&A panel a few years back.

I've seen figures that on the face of it seemed to show patterns, OTOH I just never have been able to believe SE would have ever thought about putting such factors into crafting .. I'm sure the devs have had many laughs at players' expense over the years.

Many people do it simply because, as the OP's case demonstrates, the penalty/cost of failure at times is large and few are prepared to follow their convictions and not face the right way at the right phase of the moon, 'just in case'.
