With the release of the "Grounds of Valor" update, we have a good training system for those of us who do not wish to go to Abyssea.

With "Grounds of Valor" you are rewarded though prowess and increase xp bonus, for staying in one area and building up that bonus. This can be a little restricting as you cannot leave an area without losing all the bonuses, but with a little planning works great.

However with every increase in level cap, 80,85,90 etc, the level difference at which xp can be gained keeps getting larger and larger. This might seem like a good thing.

It is not.

What this means is that a solo level 90 can invade a level 60s training area and slaughter ALL the monsters in seconds, getting virtually zero xp off the monsters themselves, but getting xp bonus from completing pages, making it "worthwhile" for them, and leave nothing for anyone else.

In the old days when someone invaded an area taking everything, you could just move somewhere else. Now with all the built up bonus, that is not an option. Full bonus takes many hours to build up, and that can be destroyed by one selfish player showing up and monopolizing an area. The only option is to abandon training for that day ond log out.

Getting XP from a monster 30 levels below your current level is ridiculous. Players can obviously not be counted on to play fair, so SE needs to enforce this. The Extreme level difference needs to be removed.

I think they might have a fix for this in the works, if it comes along with the update to aggro I think I read about.

it's quite possible those ppl aren't actually there for the exp as well. some of the r/ex items from the chests are pretty nice and could be what those ppl are after in the first place (like that stupid ring in zeruhn mines i'll never get my hands on). as you said it can take hours to build up max full bonuses, this is especially true when you're after specific bonuses. wanna know how to fix the problem? easy, make prowess obtained something you pick from the list when you go back to the book. this would help the ppl that are specifically after the item get it somewhat quicker (aka not 15+ hrs... FU SE...), which will in turn liberate the zone you're exp'ing in faster.

The only reason this has been left in, as far as I know, was to precipitate Magian trials. If people could out-level what was EP at 75, then they'd lose a whole lot of monster family availability for their trials. For this reason, I'm pretty sure this isn't going to change.

You could always try sometihng different for the xp instead of logging out. FoV is still an option too. Granted, not as potentially rewarding as GoV maybe, but shouldn't be written off either.

This is already in the game if something is Too Week they won't get exp from doing the Fields of Valor.

If they're clearing out the zone for prowess bonuses or the EXP from the pages, just join the party or alliance with them, and you'll get the EXP from the pages too, as a faster rate since there are more of you to kill. I'm sure the EXP wouldn't be cut down to 0. Let the get the equipment from the brown caskets they are looking for and they will leave the zone. If they're there for Magian Trials, the prowess boosts help, and more people get the trials done faster.

The level range widening has a reason: So that you can still complete Magian Trials off of certain monsters when it might otherwise have become difficult to impossible to find level-appropriate monsters of the needed type.
