With the release of the "Grounds of Valor" update, we have a good training system for those of us who do not wish to go to Abyssea.
With "Grounds of Valor" you are rewarded though prowess and increase xp bonus, for staying in one area and building up that bonus. This can be a little restricting as you cannot leave an area without losing all the bonuses, but with a little planning works great.
However with every increase in level cap, 80,85,90 etc, the level difference at which xp can be gained keeps getting larger and larger. This might seem like a good thing.
It is not.
What this means is that a solo level 90 can invade a level 60s training area and slaughter ALL the monsters in seconds, getting virtually zero xp off the monsters themselves, but getting xp bonus from completing pages, making it "worthwhile" for them, and leave nothing for anyone else.
In the old days when someone invaded an area taking everything, you could just move somewhere else. Now with all the built up bonus, that is not an option. Full bonus takes many hours to build up, and that can be destroyed by one selfish player showing up and monopolizing an area. The only option is to abandon training for that day ond log out.
Getting XP from a monster 30 levels below your current level is ridiculous. Players can obviously not be counted on to play fair, so SE needs to enforce this. The Extreme level difference needs to be removed.
