Traverser stones not accumulating.

Hello.

My wife is having an issue on her character where traverser stones are not building up. We have all 3 abyssites of celerity and 4 of the sojourn (42 min per stone) yet her stones are not building up at all. She should be getting a stone every 8 hours but doesn't seem to be, checked this morning and she has 0 and has been off the game for over 8 hours.

Wondering if anybody knows why this is happening or if it's a glitch of some sort?

We tried contacting a GM but were just sent a message telling us to talk to players and go on the forums.... :confused:

She has the requisite cut scenes in order to start accumulating stones? There's only 2 or 3. I would assume you do, since you can check your stones you have in stock. DId you check to see how many stones she has on her? Maybe they were already aquired and the action was lost in all of the shout spam.

Pretty sure we have all the cut scenes we need, we are upto the Shinryu fight and I am accumulating stones just fine.

She does have 4 stones on her but she had them since yesterday and hasn't been on since then so should have another stone in stock, we're just really stumped as to what is going on. <_<

I suggest not touching abyssea for a couple of days and then come back.

you may have just caught it at an odd time between regeneration points. May need to double check that she in fact has all the celerities. May have thought she got one before they changed the rules on how they dropped and she may not have gotten one of them. Mine occur at weird times like 11:32, 7:32, etc. because of when I started. So, you may also need to simply wait a little longer to check with Joachim/Erich/....whatever all the names were.

Well, will try and wait to see but she hasn't been going into Abyssea recently. She was wanting to see if she'd get extra stones but it's not happening so I'm not sure what's going on. I'm hoping with her stones being at 0 now that it will reset and they will start to accumulate normally.

just pulled up the tonberries, and it is still saying only the puller gets the abyssite, so this may not have been affected by the tweak where they made some fall to all party members. I would double check her temp key-items list next time she logs in, just to make sure she has that azure celerity one, since the other two are quested/bought and are 100% acquisition. If she only has 2, that may be part of the problem.

hmmm... that is puzzling indeed. First inclination is to say she's missing a CS with joachim or Gilgamesh or someting that has somehow buggered it up. But seeing as you guys are going to Shinryu, that shouldn't be the case. I've gone all the way up to the spire and got the CS's--just haven't fought Shinryu yet, and I'm getting 3 per day.

Sounds like something may be hosed at the server's end for that account. IDK how you guys are going to track that down. They ultimatly might have to take it offline and do a restore or something. Would suck to do that though and potentially loose stuff she may have acquired since the last backup was made.

Would suck if she had accumulated like 100+ stones and burned all that time without re-attaining stones. That's a lot of time wasted in abyssea, if they had to set it back to before the problem began.

Derr if she was missing an initial CS she surely wouldn't have FOUR stones in her Key Items already, Shinryu access, oh and a bunch of abyssites including one that requires building fame from doing quests in Vunkerl Inlet....

That was covered within the same post. Third sentence already clarified that point made in the second sentence.

Please, troll somewhere else...this is a serious issue if there indeed is a bug in the system that can prevent anyone from participating in what has become one of the main aspects of FFXI.

Did you zone (not to MH) before checking again?

I have actually just noticed this myself today. I had 425 stones the other day before I had to leave for some business, and when I returned 2 days later I still have 425 according to the NPC. Now assuming I get 3 stones a day I should have came home to around 430+ stones and I didn't, I had same # as when I left. Maybe the NPC just doesn't count them anymore or what (kind of hard to test by blowing through that many stones), but something seems off with npc and your current stone count.

Try using a stone to add time to her, warp out and then check.

Honestly with the amount of time one spends in abyssea exping daily you should never need stones. I leave abyysea alot with 500-2300 mins. Stones just go up and up. Also you do not need cut scenes to get stones to build up. i had all 3 abyssites and never once did the cut scenes til i killed all zone bosses and cutherea. Then i spammed the cut scenes and got Shinryu access.

While this isn't a thread for discussion about how to accumulate time for/in Abyssea, I feel the need to note that not everyone play the game the same way. I for one only ever had in total a few EXP parties in Abyssea and indeed needed tons of stones to do quests and whatever other things the content has to offer. I was running out of them at several points of time, so no, not everyone "spend time in abyssea exping daily".
Also keep in mind the maximum of 120 minutes after re-entry. ^^;


And now back to the actual topic.

Adding to the other suggestions and the list of information requested by Ashvrei, I didn't notice a statement of actually entering and using stones after this issue surfaced. With that in mind, is the character able to enter Abyssea in the first place, and are the "Rise of the Zilart" and "Wings of the Goddess" expansions still properly installed and detected by the service?
