So, who doesn't plan on jumping through hoops to play FFXI after this Click-and-Buy SE account transfer goes through?

If the option to pay with existing credit card info (added before the 3-d secure requirement) is removed, I know that I personally am not willing to utilize a third party card handler, nor am I going to utilize a payment method (Crysta) designed specifically to bleed customers of a little bit of extra money each month.

Agreed. As much as I love ffxi and have played for so long, it's just not worth it.

provided you have a 3D secure card or a paypal account (as you can buy crysta with paypal), you wont have to use click n buy

Why do we need another thread for this when there's already a thread about it on the front page?

You won't have to use click and buy. You can use game cards or paypal (something people have been asking for for years), and you can still use a 3D Secure card to pay directly.

A) Not everyone has a credit card with VbV or has the option/want to get a card that does.

B) Game cards aren't all that accessible aside from online.

C) Crysta sucks. You always have to have some amount left and I don't want to have to pay hidden fees and all that crap.

D) I keep hearing god-awful things about Click-and-Buy and I do not want to use my credit card with a company that has a questionable reputation at best.

there are no hidden fees for crysta, fees will come if you buy crysta through click n buy or an ultimate gaming card, I suggest paypal

The fee for Crysta is the fact that you can't buy it in $12.95 increments and are thus wasting some amount of money no matter what.

Yeah, and it doesn't help when I used Click-and-Buy for XIV when it first came out that my bank considered Click-and-Buy transactions to be suspicious and proceed to freeze my card.

I've seen people say click and buy charges its users some fee to but so far nobody has explained. When I looked at the companies website listing of its fees I concluded there shouldn't be a fee at all if you aren't pre-loading click and buy account and aren't converting currencies. If someone who's had the problem could kindly enlighten me I'd appreciate it.

It is also not clear to me if crysta can be automated or I have to manually add crysta and then fees can be automatically spent on my fees. I don't like having to manually pre load anything.

from my understanding the problem with click n buy is terrible service not fees

Most people don't have to deal with the fees, though there are a few people who might, there is a currency conversion fee if your payment source and the requested amount are not in the same currency. That's the only one that some people will likely deal with.

from my understanding the problem with click n buy is terrible service not fees I've heard both, but only from a handful of people. I haven't really heard the specifics about whats so bad about service problems either.
