Greetings fellow bronies!
Can we please have a paid race change option for FFXI? I'm pretty tired of my current character model and would like to change the appearance.
Other MMORPG's offer similiar options and it doesn't hurt at all to have such an option for the playerbase.

Sorry, this is not lolwow and trying to make it into one is not going to help matters any.

There's already been 3003247 threads on this topic and the official answer is no (They have no plans of doing this).

Has nothing to do with lolwow, more like with providing customers a long wanted feature that should be implemented years ago. Umad? :7
If there's 3003247 threads about this already then there might be a somewhat huge interest by the playerbase, no? Don't see why SE couldn't change their oppinion either. More income for SE, more happy players, profit for everyone!

should be implemented years ago.It shouldn't have been implemented years ago. It makes you put more thought into your appearance selections, and keeps people from doing things like coming up with dumb names they regret using a week later.
If you want to play dressup or cosmetic surgeon, go play any F2P game, all of which have 10 times more appearance options than any paid subscription MMO.

Love the hilarious and rampant mis-use of "u mad".
For one, you're supposed to use it when someone else is mad about something, not yourself.

He made a suggestion, others got mad about it. Seems appropriate to me. It still is a good suggestion, and I'm pretty sure SE agrees, they just don't wanna put their efforts into creating such a feature. They never said it's a bad idea, and there's no reason not to do it other than "no time for it". And that, as we all know, is SE's go-to excuse. They have used it on tons of massively requested useful features.
It shouldn't have been implemented years ago. It makes you put more thought into your appearance selections, and keeps people from doing things like coming up with dumb names they regret using a week later.
Huh? What does this have to do with names? And I don't think many people put much thought into their race anyway, and even if, this feature wouldn't change that, since they would have to pay to change it.

Appearance seems to be what SE is most worried about (in all their games). There's a reason why every FF game was praised for their extremely good contemporary graphics and design. SE clearly thinks character design is important too, which is why you can customize your character in XIV a lot more. And still, it's not even what he (or all the other people who made threads about it) are asking for. They are satisfied with the available appearance options, they simply wanna be able to change it to something else (very rarely), to experience new things without having to start the entire game over completely.

Naw, it is a statement.
Now, before you assume, realize that what people say about assuming is true in this instance

Maybe you should take a closer look at what you named the thread before speaking.
If there's 3003247 threads about this already then there might be a somewhat huge interest by the playerbase, no? Don't see why SE couldn't change their oppinion either. More income for SE, more happy players, profit for everyone!
All 3003247 of those threads were repeatedly created by about 10 or so people, with a few extra "1 post" users along the way that never posted about anything ever again. So, no, there is not a "somewhat huge interest", just interest from people who can't get a clue, understand what "no" means, and are bad at decision making. You posted about a dead horse, no one wants to see dead horses.

Huh? What does this have to do with names?Because paid anything change generally leads to paid <anything else that's unchangable> change. And your name is one aspect of character customization, just as race is.
One leads to the other. Allow people to change this, then they'll be begging to be able to change that.
I think they should implement race changes. Maybe charge $5 for it. It could be in the optional services when they get their Crysta system set up.

You do know that everything about your character except the race is already changeable? And yes, that includes names. That was one very attractive aspect to this game, and I know it wasn't just me. Is it realistic? How realistic is it to change your job at will? Well, probably more realistic, but who's to say where to draw the line?

You do know that everything about your character except the race is already changeable? Nothing about your character is changable. You cannot change any aspect of your character's appearance, and you cannot change your name, except by fudging the system by creating a character with your same name on another server and then doing a server transfer.

Wait, people do that?
/sarcasm
But yeah, that is how people change their names, unless you got somebody with a mule on your server you wish to transfer to, which is how my name had to be rechanged when I came back from Ramuh.

I think they should implement race changes. Maybe charge $5 for it. It could be in the optional services when they get their Crysta system set up.It should be more comperable to the server change fee as changing the hard info that is your character would be on the same level effort on the part of SE as swaping servers. Likes wise, if such a feature existed, it should hold the same time penalty.

Pretty sure it would be automated if they would implement it. They would need to have a client update but that the extent of it. Then when you purchase a race change it just flags that character to go to the character creation menu instead of logging in.
Or they could just have the same prices as WoW the more you want the more it costs, Race change $25, Character Appearance Change (same race) $15, Name change $10.

Maybe charge $5 for itI guarantee you it would be a lot more than $5. I'm pretty sure WoW charges like $20 for character re-customization.

If SE won't allow same sex marriages in FFXI they certainly won't allow transsexual mithras.

I came into this thread looking for a Naxxramus/Ulduar bashing. Where is it?
Seems like use to be cool to bash ToC but I loved ToC because of no trash.
