Funiture : Chairs add them please

I think SE you all forgot to add these in the funiture varity.
After many years of just tossing stuff in my mog house i decided to remodel many of my characters mog house's and talking to others who decorate there mog house also we all agreed..........
"There is no chairs WTF?!! LOL"
THERE is no chairs for furniture! Maybe a harp stool, a taru footstep or a tavern bench but thats about it that semi works for a chair.(I have might missed something )
No chairs? You want us to all sit on the floors of our mog or pull our beds over to the tables when we eat ? Just wondering why you never made chairs ?
I know it isnt much to ask for. Just some chairs or stuff to sit on or stuff i can pull up next to a round table or the dinner table in my mog instead of ugly taru footstools or the above items. Some variation of chairs could be done also.
Maybe even make a throne ... After all who is the master of the mog house ? Is it realy you or your moogle?

It'd be neat if there were different chairs among different crafts. Woodworking can get traditional rocking chairs and the like, Smithing can get something very spartan in flavor (and obviously not very difficult to make), Goldsmithing and Clothcraft could be used to make almost regal thrones, and Bonecraft can be used to make A THRONE OF SKULLS!

. . . what gets me is thinking about how popular that last item would actually be. XD

Be cool to have while '/sit' in home controlled regions, Regain HP and MP quick. Make it a quest and hard to get. The chair can be the recliner or rocking chair.

All jokes aside, it would really be awesome at LS meetings and random relaxation/conversation moments. Give us our deeper levels of "role play" please ^^

I tried to show some of that variance with my illustration of the linkshell meeting inside the Mog House with folks sitting differently either folding their arms, or leaning forward, or very postured. Even having the animation that shows a character napping in a chair. All would be awesome to have.

They could be coded to trigger different animations like /seat 1, /seat 2, /seat 3 etc. ^^
I believe it has the potential. ^^

If anything I'd love to see you go through towns and add chairs to obvious places that should have them (tables in lower jeuno by fame npc, various restraunts eateries and inns, etc.) Also hope we see some added to major player hangouts, it'd make them really popular and well used and thus worth the dev time.

There are some pretty nice sofa type furnishings in the Archduke's house...

When creating chairs, consider making them "sets" with specific furnishings, so sizes can match up. A chair designed for a Millionaire's Desk would be too tall for a Leisure Table.

Chairs for Leisure Tables should be 2 squares wide, to match the width of the table...

And I have a special idea JUST for Leisure Tables.

Anything players visiting my mog house could actually sit in would be great. In general I'd like objects in the mog house to be functional. Lamps that can be clicked on/off without going into the layout menu. Overall increased sense of immersion. Perfectly understandable if thats to much to hope/ask for though.

Aside form the above, simple chairs that match existing tables would be just fine. And by matching I mean fits the look and the elemental affinity. Fir element red round tab;e? fire element red chair. Mahogany dining table with earth element? Matching mahogany earth element dining chair times 4 set under it please.

Alot of the above ideas are awsome I came up with a few that where not mentioned above also
Natin specific chairs Red one for sandy. Blue for bastok. Green for windy. Maybe with a big S W or B in the middle of the back part

bar stool /tavern stools (no not to taru foot stools) some 4 legged ones u can put at a time

White rose metal lace Its sorta like lawn funiture design and colored (sorta like lawn furniture) that can go with the diffrent collored tables u have (like the white table the yellow one and blue etc)

Normal 4 legged wooden chairs Had state the obvious since wasnt in any above i saw lol

Tanner chair a chair adorned with many furs of animals amongst it

cooking chair various nick nack cooking supplies on side of it ( could do one similar 4 each guild)

If they choose to NOT make a new sit animation for chairs, which shouldnt be a big deal since they made complex dance animations for dancer, a fun idea would be an event consumable that lets you zoom around town on a magic carpet. Give it like +25% movement speed and have optional ones, like one that emits rocket trails, sparkles, or let one look like a poptart that emits a rainbow. Nobody would complain and you devs would be labelled heros for yet another reason.

Absolutely true, and a valid point. We got "Job specific" emotes (which I would prolly trade for the ability to sit in chairs if I could've voted on it) which were fun, and was in comparison perhaps far more complicated animation wise than composing sit down animations would be. No cool special effects needed like cool wings, roses floating around, DBZ-like power ups, etc., just perhaps an adjustment of the current /sit animations that we currently have. The animations of us getting up from a seated position could also be altered to work with these.

I thought about this too, and even though it wouldn't be as fun to watch as a full detailed animation would be, to save time and resources, they could be composed similar to how mounting up on a rent chocobo works. They could have made a dozen animations for the rent chocobo sequence, but they chose the "Blink" -» "Reappear" method instead to most likely save on time and resources. Programming chairs with a targetable point that would allow the possible new /sit <t> command to initiate the player to "Blink" for a moment and reappear in the chair. Again, it wouldn't be as fun to watch, but I'd take it over nothing if they allowed us to vote on it. :D

This way, they wouldn't have to invest huge amounts of time and animation resources to allow players the gift of comfortable seating for the 1st time. This would also make it easier to target non-chair objects (tree stumps, boulders, logs, beds, water fountains, etc.) and allow players to pop-a-squat in random locations throughout vana'diel so long as these objects are programmed with a targetable point for the player to trigger the possible /sit <t> command. Which would again be tremendously less of a strain to accomplish versus programming all the different types of collision parameters and syncing every animation to work with it properly.

If I had to choose, I would probably reserve the full animation of characters sitting down for special furniture that would only appear within one's Mog House. That way, these special chairs would have a great cutscene similar to the town chocobo stables mounting animation that players could enjoy. Other players inside your mog house wouldn't see your specific cutscene seating animation though. They would just see you blink and reappear in the seat. We have lots of personal cutscenes in Vana'diel though, so that shouldn't be too intolerable.

God I wish I could model, rig, and animate 3-D characters, because I would post examples of this in a heartbeat. Being stuck in 2-D sucks at times like this. :(

It's the little things that truly make a game great, you know. It doesn't always have to be geared towards hardcore content; some people want to actually relax and enjoy the company they have with friends, which is one of the biggest aspects of this game that I've seen SE advertise about in the past.

I don't care if we have to "Blink" our way into the chairs, just so long as we get to sit in them! lol :D Looking at freshly added chairs and /sighing in front of them (like we've done in front of our comfy beds all these years), would just be a horrible tease and bit of a waste of production time.

Theres got to be a throne type chair to match the royal bed or it just wont be right. Also, for the dark knight at heart and this might even be a new halloween event item, the chair made of skulls and skeleton bones. Like spawn's throne, pile of skulls and bones formed into a mound of a throne, would be wicked.

Personally, I'm gonna speak for all the other galkas who enjoy making their mog house look nice, when I say "I'M TOO G'DAMN BIG FOR MAH FURNACHER". If they add chairs, regardless of if we can/cannot sit in them, I hope they atleast add some galka-sized chairs. God knows there's no galka-sized beds.... The Royal bed is big enough, but the fact that it's got a top means I'd hit my face every time I went to bed.

Also, I know it's not likely, but personally, I think having some way to upgrade our mog houses to be a bit... well.... not tiny... would be welcome. I mean, like, even having a moghouse like the one we "get" in the AMK add on would be neat. Something cool would be like, increasing the width of our house by 5-6 blocks on each side, and maybe even adding a flight of stairs and a second floor... I'd be in heavan, even though my wallet would be perpetually empty XD

Something I thought of after reading the comments about JSE furniture; pets, or more specifically, pet related furniture. I have no idea what smn would have, but for the others:

drg: a basket that can be placed on the floor or on a table, that has your wyvern curled up in it, sleeping (stting). Make it rare to prevent people for destroying logic and having multiple wyverns though

bst: wall mounted jug pet jugs and/or couriercarrie's courier pack

pup: a deactivated (sitting) automaton, probably harlequin frame though having multiples would be cool, that can be placed on the floor or on a table, and is surrounded by open and closed attachment boxes, and other little doodads and gadgets.
