Has there been any word as to the release of the 2010 Vana'diel Census information? I'm interested to see the changes that have taken place due to abyssea and lots of other things.

The mergers probably stopped the possibility of one this year.

While I don't expect miracles, it would have been interesting to see a census on AF3+2 pieces completed per jobs, just to see if jobs people gear up reflect which jobs people play.

Top two jobs NIN and WHM, coming in close at 3rd MNK!

I think MNK may have beaten out NIN, but WAR will be 4th for sure.

WHM will likely be #1 due to so many people having WHM mules/dual box characters. Second place? Toss up between NIN, THF, and BLM. Third place will be also be either NIN, THF, or BLM. Fourth place will be whatever job doesn't get second or third place. Fifth will be MNK or WAR. Sixth will be the loser of fifth place. Seventh will be DNC or BLU or BST. And so forth.

The 2010 census shows that more people have meritted Staff than Great Sword and Bow, not even making the list last year. lol

red proc and raise of max combat skill point!
NIN(or any job with no native staff skill)/war with staff merit and hachimaki get sunburst.

I was expecting overall player numbers :( Didn't see it, unless I missed it.
No shock to see how many have emps now.
also gj sand sweeper, kicking ass!
*edit
Makes me laugh how much in-depth information they keep on almost everything in the game yet still fluffed up with FFXIV lol
To avoid the influence of storage characters, level 1 characters have been excluded from these calculations.
lol @ lvl1 char exclusion since for 1st bonanza you needed lvl5 to buy marbles (lot of storage char are 5)

I think Cataclysm is more to blame. Also, SMN is in the top 10 jobs, above SAM at the moment. lol

Agility has increased considerably from the previous census, most likely due to the December 2010 adjustment where the amount of TP given to an enemy may now be reduced based upon the player’s agility.
I think they meant Blade: Hi

haha Richest Server is the server that also complains the most lol.
Wonder if I had anything to do with both. :)

Thanks Sage Sundi for this Census even though many statistics have not changed in the last two years. We'd really appreciate seeing population numbers next time! We know SE doesn't like to make those numbers public though, (at least since the fall of Eorzea) ;)

The census info is outdated prior to it being posted, at least in the mythics category. There is at least one aymur already completed, as of May 19.

I wish they would give out the user numbers, I think FFXI is actually doing pretty well atm.

That would be nice to see, with the number of active POL accounts, rather than the number of active characters. Showing both would work too.

No race and model/job distribution this time? =( Granted it was pretty much always the same because certain models are just that much better than others (Mithra 6A anyone?), but still...

I think the problem is that there just isn't a steady influx of new players like there used to be. I'm guessing the ammount of new customers for this game is sharply declining by the month. Now that would have been an interesting statistic to see, but ya not likely :p

I am truly dissapoint by no information about percentages of people logging in using PS2/Xbox360/PC. Maybe if we knew the values, the "sorry, PS2 limitations" mantra would gain some credibility?
Next, we move to mythic weapons, which have also increased somewhat since the last census, if not to the degree of relics. While we expect to see a rise in popularity changes after the planned Aht Urhgan adjustments, at the present most mythic weapons remain extremely rare.
SE has already stated that 30k alexandrite requirement will stay. Makes me wonder how mythics are going to raise in popularity considering 30k alex (~30-50 drop per Salvage?), 100 assaults (dead event), 100k Nyzul tokens (somewhat dead event), 100k Einherjar ampules (dead event), 3 ZNM trophies (dead event + getting ~40k zeni for each pop), king titles and, for dessert, you losing pop items if you disconnect during the final fight. If this got fixed I bet alot more people would rush to get their Murgleis (avesome macro piece every 10min or for the meele RDM!), Tizona, Aymur, Kogarasumaru, Nagi or even Vajra! I await with curiosity for what future brings.
I must admit some census information was actually fun to see (notorious Sand Sweepers) summed up, but things like how many active SCH57's Windurst Rank4 are there today on my server I can pull up from FFXIAH this very moment if I'm curious.

I dont think you can really get good data on what system people are logging into because accounts are global and can be logged into on any of the 3 systems.
