Hello SE and hello to everyone posting on this forum!

How cool would it be to have an even tougher, stronger, and adrenaline pumping fight like "Divine Might". I think it would be badass to recreate this bcnm for folks to relive this battle, for its one of the most intense fights (in terms of 18-player bcnm @ level 75) around.

I think there should be a lvl 99+ version of this bcnm with some great difficulty, that will allow us to not only depend on our muscles, but be very strategic and tactical as well. Now, the Ark Angels shouldn't be as linear as the current "Divine Might", but host some new abilities, ws, and magic, should be as tactical in taking us down as we are to take them down.

Because of the hard work, the rewards should be the classic Ark Angel armors and weapons with respectable and balance stats and benefits to keep game balance and to look badass walking around Vana'diel.

How could this be incorporated? Well, there are many options to consider: You can base it off the "Wings of the Goddess" expansion as an add-on, or an add-on to the current add-ons of Abyssea. Or just make it a complete Ad-on quest by itself! lol.

What do you guys think? "Rebirth of the Ark Angels" or "Rebirth of Divine Might" sounds like a realistic possibility?

P.S. What is your most memorable, intense battle you faced in Vana'diel?

My most memorable battle? I'd have to say the very first time I fought maat.

Hah, I can remember all of them, but I suppose I remember my victory against Maat (3rd or 4th try I think?) the best. I was WHM! Healing power outdoes all! ...Hah.

So in other parts of the topic, I wouldn't mind seeing something similar to it, though not exactly it. I'd like new enemies to fight. 5 tough targets is indeed very intense.

oh man! another divine might that i can try to get into and have people say, "uhhh, no thanks we don't want...I mean, need a drk" sounds great!

Granted, I've lvl'ed other jobs since 2006 but still, the sting is still there.

I love a cool boss fight, but I never really considered DM to be among the best.

DM was cool but it really amounted to "Can you kill the Taru and at least one other AA before wiping?". Once you got that part down, it really wasn't terribly difficult - I mean, an alliance of 18 lv75 MNKs can win the fight.

I vote for a BCNM vs. all six caturae. No brews allowed. ^_^

"Can you kill the Taru and at least one other AA before wiping?"We actually kill the taru last now, one guy holds his attention while we kill the rest. Of course, it's not hard anymore, except that Spirits Within is still deadly as all hell.

6-18 members.

Lol. I remember how ppl had to figure out how to take out the Taru before the other mobs.

But as per this post, yeah it would be simple to beef up this version of DM. I would like for SE to come out with a BCNM that brings that kind of flavor and allow for some unique drops. I choose Ark Angel drops because I know there are people still saying it is one of the most badass armors in the games (based on design).

Oh, did I forget to mention that Diablos fight was pretty intense as well. Another is Alexander Prime.

ACP Final Fight {Do you need it?}

That was a crazy fight.

I hated doing it. D:

While I would love to see something like the OP has suggested. A gnarly stepping stone battle to attain a super elite piece the way DM was back in the day would be great... although with the dumbing down of the game over the past year or close enough I don't see it happening. Which is truly a shame. I hope I'm wrong, and the devs buck the current trend.

As far as my most memorable battle it's without question the 1st time my old linkshell fought Vrtra! While our subsequent fights with him once a month were still very enjoyable nothing can compare to that 1st one. With all the moving pieces to the puzzle. The adds, the charms, and Vrtra himself it was my most treasured battle before the cap went to 80. Good times!

DM is one of those battles that still holds memory. "Warriors of the Crystal" is actually the ringtone on my phone right now, having finally dug out my CD collection set and ripped the music from it (Previously held by the MKD final BCNM, ACP final BCNM which didn't last long because of the fact that the first three chords are not dissimilar to the Windows XP shutdown noise and I work in a computer lab that still uses Windows XP, and ASA final BCNM.).

I think it would be neat to see, maybe as a 10th anniversary present to the players? =P

Spirits Within is still deadly as all hell.

What really ticks me off about that is that she's not subject to the Spirits Within damage cap that players have (i.e. we can't chug a Giant's Drink and do the same kind of damage she does). There'd probably be a lot more people done with the Ark Angels mission if Ark Angel EV didn't cheat.

While making an uber-version of Divine Might for the new level caps would be difficult, as shown on the road map, we are in fact planning a new array of new battlefields.

Are they going to be devoid of any and all procing or abyssea type systems?

Unlikely, they're the Developers biggest toys to play with at the moment.

While new content is cool and should always be priority, I think it would be neat to have higher level versions of popular battle fields for newer gear or rewards. Bahamut, Omega, Ultima, Divine Might, and especially the mini expansions since I feel they're pretty close to useless at this point mind a few macros or movement speed.

Ya honestly this is like the idea of Scaling CoP up to fit 90 (as an example). Not a very good idea considering people are scarce for this content to begin with. Not a lot of people are doing sea and sky content, especially Apollyon and Divine Might. While some select few are still doing this content for the first time, why not let them have it easy by being able to get a handful of friends for this. Yet I am curious what these new battles are, but if I can make a suggestion? Please, for the love of Altana, make these new battles have a story-line of some sort, and one that wasn't hatched up by a 5th grader in english class. I really loved this games previous story lines, and WotG is a work of art.... Go back to CoP, ToAU, RotZ, WotG, and then look at AMK, ACP, and ASA and please tell me that you can see the difference in story line arch as well as interest and entertainment factors. After that then write the story-lines for these battles if they have any. A lot of us bough this game for your creative story-lines, and many of us are dying to see story-lines that are not so flat. Get back to the roots of when this game was a blow out, instead of competing for the heart of casual players. Thank you.

I'm with Teakwood. Finish up the intertwined story lines between RotZ and CoP. I'm not convinced that Apocalypse Nigh is the last battle for the two.

I like the way Apoc Nigh puts a pretty lil bow on the two story-lines. Well done imo. Its what SE decided to do with abyssea that I find repulsive. It was trying to milk content and characters that where a hit in the FFXI community, but instead.... made the content way too casual. The story-line pretty much spoiled some of the great parts of the CoP story-line, and then just didn't have as much of a punch impact as CoP. Over all, its the casuals CoP, and not like CoP is hard these days anyway, but pretty much Abyssea's Story-line kinda ruins any impact someone would get after doing Abyssea then CoP missions. I personally hated that and found myself strongly disappointed. I'm really hoping SE turns around story-line path because they are not doing particularly hot right now. I like how LBR mentioned the idea that if SE is truly lacking in the story-line dept. that they should allow the community to write up story-line ideas and give some of our talented and artistic minded writers a shot at giving this game the story-line it needs to rope in the players that have all but began to feel that SE is gradually pushing towards a WoW clone, rather then being the Final Fantasy game we all knew and loved for its story-lines. Please Fix this SE.

level cap options pleaaaase.. I know they would NEVER be used but, The pride one felt for doing CoP @ 30, 40,50 caps, was something that ment something, now when jo blow new guy in the shell burns his way to 90 in a week, and tears thru the CoP content, it makes me want to punch a S.E. building with a Victory Smite... /fume >:/

If only for the option to have to taunt the younger folk, and when they do try, and find out it's impossible hard. Maybe they'll have just a inkling of respect?

You could just level sync to a level XX player for the same effect.

COP was hard? News to me. The only somewhat difficult part was that MOTHERFUCKING MOUNTAIN. And the walking to get to your next cutscene. And the finding people to do COP with cause only X jobs are allowed to win(which wasn't true at all and isn't to this day). Oh and promy dem because noone listened to me about using bloody anima or bringing meds. Job setups didn't matter at all if you were prepared outside of at least having a healer.

Na,not hard but it wasn't as brain dead as getting burnt to 90 and then one shotting the NMs, no skill necessary.

Yes one could find someone willing to sync and do the fight, but the in game option daring anyone who hasn't experienced those monsters @their respective caps would then have a better understanding and respect for their raja ring they seek.

For those who know ........ya feel me?

People wouldn't let you join in cop groups unless you were 75 to begin with so that didn't even happen back when COP was level capped/
