People are still kinda shakey on the future of FFXI, Square don't give interviews anymore in regard FFXI and there are very few long term announcements to get excited about.
Is there any chance Square can start throwing out some future plans they have for FFXI? Something like if there are any plans to release a proper full expansion (yes please) or even more mini aby type expansions are planned.
Give us something to look forward too, don't have to tell use everything but XI players really do need stuff to look forward to aside from level 99.

Should be noted that around this time last year, while people were kind of feeling the same, Abyssea, the level cap rise, etc. were all announced.

I don't know but if they don't give/announce something major(new jobs, zones somehow) mid-year might be time to suspend ID. Abyssea's content is drying up. They can't ride this game on equipment additions forever...

It was Dec at Vana Fest.
When they do get around to adding new areas it would be great if they were new areas. Not Saruta Baruta [Q] or something. Re-using areas for WotG was understandable but for Abyssea it was just annoying from a design perspective.
Add-on Scenarios tested payment for digital distribution, Abyssea tested large content via digital distribution (and is actually considered an expansion). I think it's definitely time for another full blown (retail quality) expansion pack to take us up to level 99.
Time for a Far East expansion. Let's put that boat in Norg to good use and go visit Tenzen.

Nah. I clearly remember the March update coming very soon after the event where they announced it.

I'd like a new continent with very large cities, a new story and several more jobs. :rolleyes:
I also think a huge underwater city/areas would be cool with some neat magic flow dome enclosure instead of a bubble. :p I like water.

There's not going to be any more expansion discs. Any purchased new content will likely be in the add-on format.

One thing I doubt will happen is new jobs. I'll be very surprised if we get any more.

Imo it's time to take this to the sky,just like in the movie Avatar..learn how to tame and ride your wyvern and be able to do battle from there...WooT...bring it on and dont forget your parachute..:)
SE mentioned the far-east adventures 3-4 years ago but never took place.

how about when you hit lvl 99 drg gets a JA to turn your wyvern into a tame wyrm and you can fly ppl to the far east? us drg would be rich yay!!!
