good place to skill up at 70?

Where is a good place to skill up at level 70? I've tried cape terrigan but it's a little hard cuz the mob population is so dense. Is there any other place that a level 70 sam could skill up on? Oh and preferably not caster mobs because they tend to hurt me more than melee.

Skillup what ability? If you just need Polearm, G Katana, and Sword, go to past Castle Zvahl and fight Fortalices with the weakest weapon you can find. I went from 0-157 Polearm skill with a Harpoon and Hasso on a single Fortalice.

At 229 your best bet is either crabs (cape terrigan, boyada, grauberg or aby-grauberg) or birds in Misereaux Coast (might be hard on Sam solo but with a tank it would work). Make sure you use your fellowship NPC in soothing healer mode as SAM is quite squishy.

Like I said, go to Castle Zvahl (S) and use the 2 Zvahl Fortalices on either side of the Campaign Fortifications. If you stand on the stairs near the liquid, you're out of sight and sound aggro from the single demon that roams the hall. It's a level 75 enemy, with 5000 HP, and you can skill up on it to level 82's skill caps. Bring a weak weapon to do as close to 1 HP per hit as possible, and you will skillup on the Fortalice for a couple of hours per spawn. I did it for weapons which I had 0 skill when I got there.

Just bring /DNC or /WHM for Sneak/Invis to get there. It's not too long a run from the Campaign teleport to Xarcabard (S). The only mobs to worry about when invisible are the few Tauri and the Amphitere.

I capped out SAM there a week or two ago myself, on Sword, Polearm, and G Katana after ab Abyssea party got me up from 30 to level 70-something.

I got my Sword and Marksmanship skills up to 250 in The Boyahda Tree on crabs and did the rest in Abyssea and brought some ACC gear with me and because it was my COR, I used my ACC roll too, but as you're SAM you've got Hasso. My skill isn't capped yet (287 Sword, 283 Marksmanship), but it's high enough to hit high level mobs. Unfortunately skilling up is kinda boring, so perhaps turn on your TV when you're doing it. :)
