Dearest Lord Hien,

Forgive me for sending a letter when other matters pertain to the stability of our freed homeland. 'Tis Valentione's Day. Please, do not misunderstand my intention. While I admire you, I do not possess any inkling of passion towards you, nor do I believe you do for me.

My heart belongs to an Ala Mhigan. Through him, I saw our countries are two sides of the same coin: suppressed, their people crestfallen. Yet we persevered, rising together for a common cause. We met on the battlefield when the Liberation Front aided the Resistance. Alas, his linkpearl ceased communication before we took the Lochs. I...do not know if he lives.

I apologize. I will explain myself.

Every great leader needs a great partner at their side. Doma’s preservation requires an heir. Rather than politically forced engagements, what of finding a strong bond? And...love? We've seen corruption in arranged marriages through Yotsuyu. Though, I do not advocate romancing subjects such as Yugiri, nor starry eyed girls like Cirina.

There is one. Fiery, hard-headed...yet valiant, and kind hearted. Like you.

After the events at Doma castle I had accepted the only logical conclusion that you were gone to us, having sacrificed yourself to assure the lives of your leige and comrades. Now I can thank you in person instead of at an empty grave.

I’ve come to realise something during our time together, something I did not dare share with you until now. The importance of our mission at the time didn’t offer such luxury. When you were gone, I thought I would have to live with the regret of not telling you how I really feel for the rest of my life, but now that I see you are healthy and whole, I can say this with my tiny heart filled with joy.

You are one of the strongest, bravest and most selfless people I know and you on the reason why I have taken up the way of the Samurai. What I once thought was purely admiration grew into a longing to always be by your side, swords drawn in the heat of battle fighting against a common enemy. When we first met in passing, I did not know then that our fates would inevitably be entwined as they have been over the last 4 years. When I fist saw you my breath was quite literally taken away. You stood before my friends and I with an indomitable spirit. Proud and haughty, quite a Lady in your own right.

I was saddened by the fact that you were a primal, a force of nature that drains the very land and that it was inescapable that we would be on opposite sides of the field of battle. After our first clash and you returned to the aether, I had a feeling we had not seen each other for the last time.

O how right I was! In spite of it all, you kept calling me back to your howling vortex, and showering me with gifts for each of our confrontations. First with weapons of power and the knowledge of the Allagan tomes. How you truly could read me. And when you thought that I would turn away from you you even offered me Xanthos from your own stables!

I knew then I would always come back, just as you had hoped. It was then that I realized the kind of relationship that we had. The fierce love of battle and your truly giving heart. When you heard that I needed to strengthen my arms and aspire to the legends of the Zodiac, you offered me your inner light. It was then that I started to have an inkling of your true nature and feelings.

Countless times did you offer me aid in my long quest, and I can say without doubt if not for your tireless support I would not have succeeded. I remember the excitement I had when I finished my Lillith Rod Zeta, and how I rushed to show you the work that was wrought with your kind help.

The grin on your face as you tested my mettle yet once again to see how much I had grown. Now I have travelled to the frozen fields of Ishgard and Dravania, and you were there daily offering your support as always. Even when I moved to the far reach of Ala Mihgo, you were there.

for your continued love and support over these past 4 years, I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Knowing how much you have given to me selflessly I realize now that I do love you. You fill my thoughts each day and I have even begun to use some of the gifts you have given me to decorate my home so I can have a part of you near me always.

I have been tempered by your heart my lovely Garuda. I will leave this letter in your home when we next meet. I know now that we don't need words now to express our mature love, but I hope you will find joy in the words I have written nonetheless. Your feelings have indeed reached me as you had hoped.

Dear Claribel,

I hope you have been well. For many moons I've dwelled on how to write this letter, even if I should write it. However, I think to wait any longer would be a crime I could never repent. The sanctum of the twelve, with its many trappings, from the flowers, to the lights, has always captivated the hearts of many. Yet, I would be lying if I said that those things where what has always caught my eye.

How many weddings now has it been that in spite of myself, I find my eyes wandering away from the happy couple. Only to find them locked with yours. I have traveled far and wide, from Eorzea to Doma. Through out my travels I have bore witness to many sights beyond imagination, yet none of them as breathtaking as your smile, nor as captivating as your gaze.

When weddings take place, and we talk upon the alter, you compliment my appearance, and of course I am made to smile. Yet, recently that smile has become a blush, and that blush an even deeper smile than before.

You are always aiding in celebrating the love of others but what of your own? Have you seen what view from the tallest lighthouse in La Noscea? Have you ever seen the sun rise over the Ruby Sea? I have a chocobo for two, and would be honored if you would occupy the other seat. Lets share the most beautiful sights in this world with one another.

I'm sure these words must come as a shock to you, but I hope they may also bring a smile to your face. After the wedding I will be waiting outside with my chocobo. Ready to take you wherever your heart desires.

Dear Yugiri,

I've slowly learnt the Eorzean letters well enough to try messages. When I've finished, you'll no doubt receive this from Lyse's address in the post, after it has traveled many malms to the Ruby Bazaar- and onward to your hands. I won't be staying in Rhalgar's Reach much longer; there's too many errands to run, and I've got to check the new sales at the Limsan markets. Don't tell the others, but I want to add another bath to my apartment. The one I have now is big enough to be lonely. A smaller, narrow (Is that the right word?) size would make me feel far better. Oh right! There was something I really wanted to say. Not about the bathroom things, goodness I spent too long on those, I must've bored you. The Twins taught me a few words for something called courting poetry. Some of them are hard to speak, and go on for yalms on paper. It doesn't matter, I decided to make the effort for you so here it is! Tell me what you think, won't you?
