This has been driving me up the wall lately

I just started playing a little over a week ago, and haven't been using the forums or partying much (not much social activity going on here). I've been seeing the word in the forums a lot, but what exactly does 'pugging' mean? Grinding? Something related to pugilists? I feel stupid not knowing what such a common term means, excuse me for that.

Pugging = Pick up Group, like joining a random group of people to do dungeons with or something.

Grinding =The process of doing the same thing over and over and over.

For example, people "grind" Fates to level up
Some people "Grind" dungeons for tomestones
    You can also "grind" quest

I already knew what grinding was, believe me I'm no stranger to it. Pugging was lost on me though, even if that's what I've been doing all along so far. But thanks, that cleared things up for me.

Using the DF is generally always construed as a PUG or pugging.

The same could be said about pre-formed groups outside of using the DF, cause you technically don't always know everyone in the PT.

At least to me a PUG are a group of people I don't know. Although sometimes I've joined both DF or pre-formed and recognise player names I've PTd with before.
