    Quality of item doesn't matter.
    Is success rate capped at 90% for the hidden nodes? Not a really ideal way of going at it but I melded EVERY single gear I had with what Gathering materia I had and I was at 376 when I started to to see what my success rate was at for the hidden nodes. I was still at 90%. So if the success cap is at 90% for them, wouldn't it be best to meld gathering until you hit that mark and then go GP >> Perception instead of trying to hit the gathering cap?

    Mostly correct. It's 95% for Clusters, 90% for everything else.

    Did anyone figure out the caps on the offhand?

    I've fully melded all my gear with the exception of the offhand. I'm at Gathering 371 and Perception 367. I would like to cap my gathering chance on Lv.50 nodes and ideally get my HQ chance on rare nodes up to 10%. I've been gathering some data and it looks like you would need around 65 points above the minimum perception check to hit 10%. I'm at 47 right now so hopefully 18 more perception from materia will get me there.

    If I remember right you can't get above 95% on lvl 50 nodes.

    This still does not help me. I dont understand the table at the start.

    Someone have a materia "exact" allocation? something like what it is at the start of this thread but for DoH.

    Here is a crazy thought, what are the materia caps on the Egret Dolabra? Was theory crafting how to get the impossible 700 gp and finding out gp cap on that and militia sledge would decide once and for all if impossible or not.

    Your charts are assuming NQ quality gear correct? I was theory crafting/planning using stats from a full HQ set and I needed a lot less materia in the long run. I ended up only needing 17 points in gathering to hit cap and 32 GP to hit 600. You could get away only needing another 12 points in GP to hit 580 if you wanted to use food but this would not require any overmelding at all. I just wanted to make sure my numbers weren't off because your plan uses A LOT more materia than what I came up with.
