so i know this doesnt give the cap unfortunately but you can get at least 18 perception into the hq militia offhand.

It's no problem, the meld caps are pretty asinine, and at this point there aren't that many good information resources for the caps, so I'm all the more glad to pioneer this for the gatherers. Maybe with 2.1 S-E could actually make the melding system a bit more intuitive and let us know the caps before we waste our hard earned gil. But until then, we'll continue gathering information for the sake of everyone so that we can have a database for all the caps eventually.

For secondary tool cap of gathering is only 11... I meld 2 materias III gathering and the other lvl III do only +1 bonus.

Militia Scythe can go to 20+ perception, at least.

Gathering Cap = 372
Perception = 384 (Full Perception on off hand)

*I don't see a point in going gathering on your off hand since the success rate is capped*

Quality of item doesn't matter.
