    Direction of FFXIV?

    Hi.

I was just curious as to what the direction of FFXIV is. The reason I ask is that with the addition of quest hubs, is it SE's intention to make FFXIV more of a quest-oriented progression system?

Is it their intention to make the game less grind-driven?

With instances, is it their intention to make content centered around gear-grind as opposed to more player-driven content like previously slated Player Company housing and ships?

What is the overall scope, if any, or is SE merely content to implement one thing at a time and see where it gets them?

I suppose I am left wondering what their main vision is, and what motivates them to release one feature over another. What is their design philosophy? Over-arching goals? Intentions? Where do their priorities lie and how did they arrive at those priorities?

I think these questions need to be addressed so players can have some mildly tangible idea of where the game is going, even if they don't know exactly how SE intends to take us there.

Not if the quests in the outposts gives the same rewards like the mini quests
I don't believe SE would put quests with high SP rewards in the game. More gears, gils and items as rewards. And of course storys as rewards too ^^

I think SE's direction is you should be able to log-in and have something to do at all time. Whether it be Guildleves, Tasks, Side-quests, Dungeons, NMs, and etc.

If they do something like that then SE already failed. Sorry but quest grinding is so last generation. Every new mmo is trying dynamic content, dynamic dialogs/world and things like that. Adding "kill 10 this, kill 5 that" quests won't make this game successful. I guess we have to wait and see but sometimes I think japanese developers should be forced to play other games. They live in the past and have no idea how world changed around them.

I talked about the quest rewards, not the quest structures.
You can't grind with quests when you get no SP from quests.

I think that's always a good approach to have. But, in saying that, there are juat so many ways of implementing "a bunch of things to do" so it doesn't really add a lot of clarity to the discussion.
