...the three grand companies would be at war every time. The world is just so huge and beautiful. Imagine an open world PvP with three factions batteling each other. With company keeps in dedicated frontier zones, 1 zone for each company with 8+ keeps.

I really love this game by its art and gameplay, but I dont know why I am even playing it, since PvE is the only option.

Maybe you should play a game with PVP instead then? Storywise a war between the three nations of eorzea would be stupid given how the guilds are spread out (thereby locking anyone not from Limsa or Gridania out of having healers at all), and how you have to visit all 3 nations holdings to reach 50, and how lorewise, if the 3 nations were at war we'd be easy pickings for Garlemald

XIV lore wise isn't about killing each other - there's plenty of other MMOs out there, I hear WoW and GW2 are perfect for people who like this kind of stuff. The Grand Companies are allied against a larger threat, randomly fighting each other would make an already generic MMO even more so.

Free Companies will in the 'Frontlines' content. If PvE isn't someone's cup of tea, again plenty of other MMOs out there - FF MMOs are PvE focused with everything else being extra, much like the PvP content they're adding won't be significant or important to progression (thankfully.)

I promise you, if there would be a fresh release with DAoC mechanics, it would have success. DAoC was launched in 2001. Back in these days it was totally crowded in terms of MMORPGs at that time, which were still a niche genre. But I guess your first MMORPG was WoW or FFXI, you cant know that, brave new gamer. Nowadays, no one wants to play a game from 2001, including me.

So explain how is a three faction game fighting in frontiers a gankfest? I guess you never played in a constant group searching for 8vs8, its nothing about ganking.
