3 logs for 1 lumber is crap. just so people feel like the gathering fast you put the rates up high. just down it and have 1 log for 1 lumber.

Tailoring is worse.
2 grass for 1 thread. 2 threads for 1 cloth. And many items require like 2 cloths + 1 thread + some other material.
So you often find yourself using 10 grass (comparable to logs) for one item.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
It's not bad IMO. Just grab botanist an farm with the tree logs an you will rank up botanist an have tons of logs. What is bad is the shards required at higher levels just for one piece of lumber,5 wind shards, really?!
And of course, all three flavors of smithing have three ores to one ingot. It's just how it works for refining raw materials.
I just thought it would be more fun to me, if it takes around 3 chops for the bot to get a log (so the gathering rate would be 35-45% for a log maybe less) and then you craft 1 piece of lumber from 1 log. Guess logs would go up in price, would be too many wands in the AH, balance would crumble and the game would fail?
