Let's be frank, Ifrit is useless, i just got Titan which is cool yes but it's just Topaz Carbuncle alternative look.. i don't think people would be happy if i got into dungeons with Titan of Ifrit instead of Emerald Carnuncle... am I correct?

You will need him for a certain SMN quest. For FATEs, he is useful to tank bosses. For dungeons, he is useless because he can't hold aggro even off of *you* and everything eats him up because of his really low defense.

He COULD tank for a group, but everyone would have to really really hold back to not pull threat and only focus his target.

Ifrit and Emerald Carby will be pretty close, I would prefer carby probably simply because of his range and AoE. Once you hit level 40 and he learns Shining Emerald, it's a no contest.
