Jump animations need to
A) Make you immune to aoe
or
B) Not animation lock you and act more like ring of thorns.
Right now jump animations are way too long and get you killed far too often to be used practically.

why are you even jumping during battle? as you said it doesn't avoid aoe so what is the point?

only dragoons can Jump. everybody else hops.
oh, dragoon jumps lol. I though you were talking about space bar jumps, my bad.
Making the Character immune to AoE while the animation is active seems reasonable on a PvE scenario but during PvP it might not work so effectively.
Yeah Dragoon "Jumps" are the issue. I am not sure how they can fix. I can only think that not animation locking us would be the best way, as immunity can create exploits.
They should do both a and b. Only leveled DRG to 34 and I found the animation lock incredibly annoying and detrimental to boss fights that you don't have their rotations memorized.
It feels like all you gain by jumping is a prolonged animation. You still receive dmg from aoe's even if you're theoretically not even touching the ground. All I gain by that is a bit movement and style...while still having to deal with melee unfreandly encounters.

Jump doesn't even really give us movement since it returns us to our starting location for some unknown reason. ....and I agree with the OP. All Dragoon Jumps should make us immune from normal damage. By normal I mean regular Boss attacks or small range AoE. Unavoidable damage should remain unavoidable.
The basic Jump should be our gap closer and the other Jumps need to have their CD's lowered IMO.
