If you'd like to contribute to the list, here's how you can help:
    1. Reply with a reference you have seen/heard of.
    2. Reply with details concerning a reference on this list that seems vague. The more detailed, the better!
    3. Reply with your opinion on whether or not something in the "Posssible References" section is truly a reference or just coincidence.

    You forgot FF7, Materia
In screenshots we saw a monster that looked like Demon Wall, which was in ff4, ff7, and ff12
having the void which was started in ff5 (at least having a actual present in the story and not just a spell)

The amazing music score at character selection/creation was first heard (by me) in Final Fantasy IV (FF2 for the super Nintendo). I was happy to hear that when I was making my character.

That's neat! Do you know which song it was in FF4?

EDIT: Oh, you mean the crystal theme song? Hmm... well its actually in every Final Fantasy game (as far as I know, every game) so its more of just the Final Fantasy theme. I'd file that under the same category as moogles and chocobos.

I believe they called it "Final Fantasy IV -The Prelude/Title Theme" on the soundtrack CD.

...and I don't believe it was in the first three games at all. It first appeared in IV.

It's called "Title" on my soundtrack. Also, it was in
    Final Fantasy 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUs_6-d5T3g
    Final Fantasy 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N67zMay2JTM
    Final Fantasy 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4EvI3gZbVo

Final Fantasy 4 is one of my favorite games and it was the first I played too, so not bashing it haha.
