Does SE ban players who buy gil?

Apparently not.

I have yet to see them making any announcement that they have banned players for account who bought gil.

I am sure all it takes is for SE to carry out a few MASSIVE ban exercise of gil buyers and ANNOUNCE it - out fear into people in buying gil - this will stamp out all these RMT activities.

Christmas is coming the gold spammers are spamming hard and the gil buyers are buying.

200k gold spammers are spamming
100k gold buyers buying
and a partridge in a pear tree

The message is unclear. looking at the numbers involved, it looks like only the sellers are punished. not buyers. Numbers of buyers would be way way higher than the 4000+ accounts reported by SE

That was when some SE auto script suspended all of the richest players on non-legacy servers for 1 week, then returned them to game with their gil divided by 100.

They may have caught some gil sellers mules etc, but they screwed many legit players.

SE have a no tolerance policy on RMG, anyone caught will be perma banned.

Though if you are found to be legit, they may punish you for the sake of it, to make it look like they are "doing something".
