know your aggro! a guide for DPS.

when you attack a mob you will notice on the left side of the screen their will be a window with the mob's name on it it you look close enough you will see a circle the colour of the circle represents the amount of aggro you're pulling take a look at the image below.
if you guys could bump this thread i feel this is a need for dungeons to help healers and tanks

Tanking can be quite stressful; if there's something a tank can be doing better ask them if they'd like some tips? Everyone needs to start somewhere and it's everyone's job to watch their hate.

Well lucky for me most of them I run into know what they are doing, but one bad one in a group makes is sooooo frustrating lol.

I give it my best to tank it just sucks at lower levels they dont give much for pulling hate i try to cycle two skills then flash and i try to make sure that mob doesnt take their eyes off me im willing to die first if it means the rest can get a chance to survive

Agreed, it is hard to keep the enemies focused on us. but it is very satisfying when it does work. I found that the shield throw is useful when the enemy is running around like some do. Hard to keep their attention when they do that.

....Maybe if all the tanks didn't suck at their jobs.

My tips for dps (my opinion and nothing more)...
    1) Let the Tank pull and wait a second or two.
    2) Make sure you are focusing the Tanks initial target or if using marks...make sure you are attacking the correct target.
    3) Refrain from doing burst damage at the start of the fight.
    4) If you do get aggro then stop attacking and try not to run away from the Tank (something I find myself doing sometimes...angry mobs are scary)

Also personally...I think it's ok for dps to grab aggro off the healer, but I'd stop attacking the mob after getting aggro so it's easier for the Tank to take it from you.

I suppose that is good negative encouragement Pwnagraphic. I know I will keep trying to learn hard and I enjoy spending time at dangerous areas helping out people to hone my skills....always feels nice to help someone out. Lets all do our best.

And yes Ohkami those are good tips, it is easier for us to pull back the Agro if we can without having to fight for it too much so that we can focus on the boss or whatever group of mobs we have to deal with. It is always good to protect the healer tho, that is essential for us all.

And remember even the best Tank has to run away a bit at times if the Healer or the buffs dont cover all the damage..so that he or she can live on to do their work for everyone. Not easy, for in the heat of battle it feels bad to step back at all.
