I got this too, I had to uninstall FFXIV and download the updated launcher.

It worked for me, I went to the link that was in my email. I can't say it's the only solution, but it is the only one I tried.

I got the errors as Windows was force closing the launcher due to exceptions when I would open it up.

I'm sorry that didn't work, sounds like it may be an issue with their update server currently then. All that I can suggest is waiting a couple hours and trying again.

For those who might have the same problem, I downloaded the working boot here and now I was able to connect. I just have to redo the update.
