Why else would they have character creation lockouts that last for days? Friends already started on a high pop server? Too bad, reroll. What kind of solution is that?

Tell your "friends" to roll with you on a server that's available.
Friends cant join each other
People cant share videos
You cant /tell in instances
You're forced to leave party for all instance quests
Game is feels anti-friends to me

I already had to reroll twice.. Either the add capacity to the current servers or this is going to make them lose more than a few subs while granting them bad press...
my FC has been forced to split between servers due to this
SE should bring in free transfers OFF high population servers, this would solve this problem and some of the over-crowding issues in one move.

This was brought up before, people wanted easymode (duty finder). People also complained about having to party for exp (which builds community). So what do you get? A solo able MMO, that discourages accomplishment, but focuses on using a in-game match making tool which in turns, lowers difficulty for casual play. Tsk tsk tsk.
This isn't just about dungeons. I'm talking about entire guilds being split up because of an arbitrary lock on creating characters. It hasn't been open since EA and much of our group is already level 25+.
The lack of any support cross server is quite disheartening. No ability to chat, add friends, party, will really kill what's supposed to be a Massively Multiplayer Online game.
I ran into the same issue on Excalibur, but i think it is still possible to create characters on supposed "locked" servers. I dont think they are at max capacity, rather just over crowded. My friends were finally able to create a new character on Excalibur, just try it during low traffic hours.
I so agree with you rution19. The charm about FFXI was that you can't do ANYTHING by yourself. FFXIV was made to be an MMO for "everyone". I still like it and will play it.This was brought up before, people wanted easymode (duty finder). People also complained about having to party for exp (which builds community). So what do you get?
